Get Well Soon has been in the making for quite some time now. The recordings are finally finished and we could not be more proud. It's been over two years since our first releases (Dancing About Architecture, Old Flame | New Squeeze) and this album feels like a surprisingly accurate portrait of the band we've become in that time.
It's taking all of our self-control not to throw these recordings online right now and give them to all of you supportive, wonderful people. But, in the words of Ned (Kingsley) Zissou, "It doesn't mean the same thing". Your support over the past years means far more than digital audio files ever could. We want you to be able to touch these songs and hold them close.
We're releasing this album on CD and Cassette, and touring as far and frequently as we can afford to.
Thanks so much for everything.
(And special thanks to Kara Stafford for the brutally accurate story book.)
Risks and challenges
DIY music is hard. From writing to recording to sharing with all our friends across the world, this record has been made possible solely by the love and support of people like you.
A specific hurdle that we may encounter upon completion of this project is a time delay with production of cassettes, shirts, and sweaters. We will be making all these things ourselves, and there are a lot of steps in the processes that can possibly cause set-backs. Also, the personalized cassettes will literally be recordings made uniquely for each person. These things take time. We will be returning from our 2013 winter tour right at the end of this campaign and we will immediately begin preparing these reward packages.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
