Round 2: The Re-Launchening!
If you're reading this, hopefully it's because you just watched the video and are totally jazzed about Notolio! Another possibility is that you supported us in our last effort to get this plane off of the ground, and you're back for more! We salute you!
100% of funds raised from this Kickstarter will go to initial production of Notolio. We plan on printing enough decks to accomplish two things:
1) Fulfill all of our rewards for you wonderful backers.
2) Supply Notolio to various educational and children's organizations so that more kids can have fun and positive early experiences with the core tenets of music.
A brief description of Notolio in writing:
Notolio is a card game that is designed to teach kids how to read and transpose music. For a breakdown of gameplay, check out the above video. For now the game is only available in the treble clef deck. If funding allows, we will pursue printing a bass clef deck so that the game can be made more challenging as kids begin to master the treble clef. As an added bonus, many other games can be played with Notolio cards: Bull/I Doubt It, Spit, Memory, Go Fish, 52 Card Pick-Up, or any traditional card game you would love to expand into a "Musically Immersive Critical Thinking Amplification Port." Also known as MICTAP. Ok, maybe that's not a real thing.
We've already done the hard part: Creating Notolio! Now we just need your help to get it out there. Thank you a million times for checking us out (again), and feel free to get in touch with us if you have any questions or comments. All feedback is welcome!
Risks and challenges
The biggest challenge has been getting the game dialed in so that kids find it entertaining and easily understood. You probably noticed in the video that the game was being played by real live children (CGI is expensive). This Kickstarter is not to fund development of an idea for a game, it's to fund production of a fully realized game that we believe can make a difference in kids’ lives.
That being said, our biggest challenge will be allocating our funding toward efficient and cost-effective production of the game. We've already heavily researched our options and communicated with a number of printers, so that if successfully funded we can begin the process of getting Notolio into the hands of kids everywhere.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
