About this project
We did it - because of you! We're SO THANKFUL for your support. Check out Update #1 to see how we will use "extra" funds to make this project grow even bigger! Keep spreading the word and they'll be a shiny new penny in it for you! If we raise $20,000 we might even be on Letterman!
Disclaimer: No pennies will be given as recompense for support of PigPen. David Letterman is not aware of our agreement.
BIG NEWS: Come see PigPen play a concert at NYC's amazing hit show SLEEP NO MORE, at the McKittrick Hotel after the performance on January 10th!
For those of you that don't know us:
PigPen Theatre Co. is the result of years of collaboration between seven recent Carnegie Mellon University School of Drama graduates: Alex Falberg, Arya Shahi, Ben Ferguson, Curtis Gillen, Dan Weschler, Matt Nuernberger, and Ryan Melia.
Whilst completing their undergraduate education, the group spent weekends and school breaks writing and producing the music and scripts for four original plays including: THE NIGHTMARE STORY with which they drew wide-spread acclaim at the New York International Fringe Festival in 2010, snagging the top award for Overall Excellence in a Production. The company has since performed for sold-out crowds at the Irondale Center in Brooklyn, at the Barrow Street Theatre, a cornerstone of the off-Broadway community, and at Company One in Boston, MA. They returned to the Fringe Festival in 2011, becoming the first company in the history of the festival to win the Overall Excellence Award two years in a row, with THE MOUNTAIN SONG.
By helping us make this album you are not only helping this particular CD get made, but also supporting the growth of our company. The number one question we are asked after every show is "Where can I get your music?" The two EP's we have on iTunes are great, but they're also two years old and the music has grown in every way since. It's time for PigPen to have a full length CD, featuring "best of" songs from each show as well as brand new ones you've never heard before!
Where's the money going?
First off, we really want you guys to know how much we appreciate every dollar someone decides to give to us. That's why we tried to come up with the best REWARDS, so that you're not only helping this album get made but have something cool to show for it! Now here's how our expenses will break down for the project...
$2500 production fee (production, engineering, mixing)
$4000 studio time (4.5 days)
$1000 manufacturing (one thousand CD's)
$1000 miscellaneous (rented, purchased equipment & accessories)
Thank you guys so much for your help! Can't wait to share it with you when we are done!
