About this project
The Good Blonde follows our main protagonist, JACK, briefly displaying his life as it’s supposed to unfold - graduate college, get a good job, get married. Jack, not being enthralled by any of the “norms” releases his stress through his writings and bad habit of drinking. After an unknown traumatic event, his WIFE leaves him. Jack then decides to pick up and leave everything he knows behind.
Suddenly captivated by a young, beautifully tarnished BLONDE who offers Jack a ride; they continue their journey east together. As their travel progresses, both wandering souls try to "live in the moment”. Curiosity sets in, causing the two characters true self and veiled pasts to unravel through raw emotion, lucid conversation and dreamlike realities. As they approach their destination, with the desolate country in their rear view, their stories end up culminating in the busy streets of Manhattan.
In the summer of 2014, a young crew of aspiring filmmakers traveled across the USA, filming in 10 different states over the course of 14 days. This rugged, on the go-guerrilla style way of filmmaking adds depth to the characters, story & emotion as well as to the production itself.
Traveling sparked inspiration to not only submit to festivals in NYC (where the production company resides), but all around the country where it was filmed. Production took place in the following states: Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey & New York City.

THE BREAKDOWN: What We Need!
Our production budget was successfully raised and utilized. We have come to our expected, premeditated plan: the challenge of trying to raise funds for post-production through Kickstarter. We are using Kickstarter to raise money, create a buzz, and, most importantly, allow others to get involved.
Having written and directed my vision, I am currently bringing it to fruition with the editing process, using Final Cut Pro 7. I need help from you and other professionals to enhance the following finishing touches:

Risks and challenges
Some of the challenges we have faced in pre-production are mainly of sound & (titling) effects. After coming up with a rough edit of the film, one that we were very pleased with running approximately 40 mins, we realized we still have much work to do.
On the road, on a tight schedule, you face a lot more challenges than you initially foresee. Using mostly natural lighting, we found ourselves fighting the light, trying to race to another location hundreds of miles away just to catch sunset. If the sound wasn't perfect we had to do "the best we could" and power through. Being that the crew was nothing but professional, our final product was even more impressive than we could have imagined; our beautiful mess (as the crew jokingly calls it).
To give The Good Blonde that extra boost, and to make this project MORE than festival worthy, the funds needed to hire professionals will go strictly to enhancing sounds, recording ADR (specifically for the car sequences), upgrading title sequences & slightly adjusting color. With these important changes, the places this project could go are limitless.
My team and I want the use of our funds to be completely transparent to all our supporters. We plan on keeping everyone updated, and informed as to where donations will be going, and why we feel these allocations are necessary to the success of the project. With your additions, our goal is to entertain, innovate, and expose emotion through The Good Blonde.
