Hoorah!! The Past in Focus is now a reality! We're ready to set sail!

To all of the backers of this project.....my heartfelt thanks. This is a worthy project and you have helped to make it happen. And since the project was funded much much sooner than I expected, I will be adding some juicy stretch goals which will include themed sets of images. If you have already backed the project, then every time a stretch goal is reached you'll be receiving bonus images to add to your collection...or to select from as a print. So please check back soon to see what you can look forward to.....but now for your participation :

If you have an idea for what kind of image you would like to see added to The Past in Focus collection, now is the time to tell me. My sister and I will get started on collecting images tomorrow. You can be as specific or as broad as you like in your suggestions. We pride ourselves on being image purveyors extraordinaire. Sometimes our searches are unsuccessful, but we will try our best.

A human flying-bat? That's a difficult search, but results can be found!

You can send me a suggestion for a search through a Kickstarter message or just by leaving a comment on the project page. Either way works!

Thank you again!

Super ideas, everyone! I'm lovin' it. Keep them coming. This will be great fun collecting images!

I really love images with heavy detail, such as street level city scenes of everyday life. I once viewed a photograph from the 1940s restored and enhanced with color of a crowd at some type of sporting or other entertainment event and marveling at the details of that photo was the highlight of that museum trip.

I like anything showing the power of nature, especially at sea IE sea storms, powerful waves etc.

I really like the city scenes with people in them. Perhaps, Berlin, French Market in New Orleans, San Francisco or anyplace with people and interesting architecture.

Two summers ago I spent two months in North-East Alaska as an intern in a small museum. Thay had a lot of photographs in their collection of the Tlinget Tribe in their traditional garb and regalia, their villages, etc. I always meant to buy a print (as some were sold in the museum's store), but never did. If you could find a photo of the Tlinget people living their everyday lives, like they used to, I think that would be amazing.

I'd love to see old photos of archaeological sites, particularly ones that have changed a lot since. (Between excavation, "restoration" and destruction, a lot of sites look very different now than they did a hundred years (or more) ago.)
