Morning Update - November 11th 2013

Folks,

First, a nod, bow and respect to all the Veterans out there (including one who is part of our team) who might be reading this. Growing up, my father, who immigrated to the US after WWII, used to tell us about his time serving in a MASH unit. He was proud to be a citizen of this country and of his service to it. Those who serve our/their country deserve our respect.

Second, today’s update will be a Becoming™ tale for the next race of the Tuatha Dé Danann. For those Dark Age of Camelot™ fans or other folks that had been hoping that we would reveal a short, humanoid race as our next TDD race. Well, all I have to say is, wish granted. However, as always, be careful what you wish for. ☺

Like the story of the Phouka, it is not as dark as some of the other ones I’ve written but this story too fits the race quite nicely and it certainly isn’t without its bit of darkness and loss as befits a Becoming tale.  The full update can be found on our website here.

That’s it for today. I hope you liked the story and our take on a classic being from literature, films and games. As usual, Sandra and Michelle did a great job on bringing these beings to life without relying on some really bad stereotypes types of leprechauns.

Have a great day everyone! We will have at least one more update this week, possibly two.

Thanks to the vets and their families that have sacrificed so much to give so many a shot at freedom- truly priceless.

Awesome job so far to everyone at CSE. Thanks for thinking of vets everyone, only did 4 years here but still proud as ever to have served!

[MJ] @Modran - Thanks! No worries on the bad sentence, happens to me all the time here.

@Laeesh - Thanks! As to the Veil, yep, it certainly will at some point. Have a lot to explain first. :)

they look great, does the veil get a "Becoming Story" as well ? :> maybe at the end of all races ? or something :> ?

      [MJ] @Matt - You're welcome!

@James - Thanks so much. We knew that we had a lot of people who wanted a short race for the TDD that were fun to play, a bit whimsical and in some cases, reminders of another race. :) I thought we did a good job of pulling together a number of disparate elements to make an interesting concept race.

      @Tokk - Hehe.

@Chris - You're welcome. I wish I could put the full story up here but the KS update editor has stopped working with any of the editors I or other people use. It's a real PITA to format a long since the editor simply pulls it in as a blob of text.

@Mel - Glad you like them. I think they will be a good addition to the TDD lineup.

LOL @ all so far. That was a fun read. Now, I must away and prepare for me future thievin' ways!

      Just as an FYI.

Even though you link the FULL story to your website. I entirely appreciate the fact that you update through Kickstarter.

Hobbits and Lurikeens made babies - waaaaaaaaah =]

I'm glad you included the height line up. It certainly helps to put size into perspective. The Luchorpáns remind me of Kobolds/Lurikeens from DAoC which were arguably some of the most popular races. Great work so far!

@cse Hell yeah, really like the art study. Love the banes. Hrm my rogue may have veil issues. thanks
