Afternoon Update June 5th 2013
As most of you know our forums have been rocking steadily since they went LIVE last month. As of this writing the vast majority of our Kickstarter backers have been sent an invitation to our forums (we have gotten a tiny percentage of bounce-backs). Thus, we want to send out additional invitations to our PayPal backers today. However, before we do there are a few things that I would like to mention about our forum invitation process. First, if you are a Kickstarter backer and your payment went through Amazon Payments successfully, you should have an invitation. If you haven’t received an invitation yet, please check your spam folder. We’ve had a lot of people tell us that it ended up there. If you check your spam folder, trash, etc. and you don’t find the invitation (and you donated through Amazon Payments), please send an email to email@example.com with the title “KS Backer Needs Forum Access Badly!” and please include the following information in your email:
- Your Amazon Payments transaction id (NOT YOUR PASSWORD).
- Your Kickstarter Pledge Tier
- The email address that is associated with your Kickstarter account.
Once we have that we can look into why you don’t have access to our forums yet.
Secondly, for those who have been given access to our forums but are still having some issues logging into them, here are the two most frequent issues that we have been seeing:
1) When I try to log into the forums I get stuck in a loop and redirected back to the City State site.
The forum website uses a small pop-up window to confirm a login cookie with us. Your browser must have cookies and popups allowed for both CityStateEntertainment.com and VanillaForums.com. We appreciate your support, and we do not have ads or third-party tracking on a site that’s entirely for our paying backers!
2) I’m still not able to log into the forums. I’m using IE10.
We’ve had some sporadic reports of problems with IE10, and we’re still looking into this. Some users have reported success if they close IE, log in once with another browser such as Chrome or Firefox, and then re-open IE10 and use that from then on. Other users have reported success by clearing their IE browser cache. If you’ve got a consistent problem please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We’d love to resolve this once and for all!
