THE DEBUTANTE HUNTER is a profile of Kristy Olson, Southern debutante, hair-stylist, single-mother, and passionate hunter. This short documentary will immerse you into her fascinating world, introduce you to fellow fearless women and explore what it means to be both a Southern belle and lethal huntress in a traditionally male-dominated sport.
We are so excited to make this documentary and are honored to have been awarded an Indie Grant from the South Carolina Film Commission and Trident Technical College for our project! We are very grateful for this amazing opportunity (we are one of only 6 grant recipients!) and could not make this film without their support. However, even with the majority of our incredibly talented crew working for next to nothing, the grant only covers two thirds of our budget.
This is why we need your help!
We must raise the remaining third of our budget in the next thirty days to ensure that we can make this film. The money being raised is for production and post-production costs (and some much needed insect repellent!).
This documentary will shoot in November over 4 days in the beautiful Charleston area. We have a fantastic group of women to follow along with Kristy! These ladies are outdoor-loving, inspirational dynamos that challenge stereotypes of the contemporary female hunter. We hope you will be as excited as we are to discover more about them and help share their stories with the world!
By contributing to this project you are enabling us filmmakers to produce and complete a short film that otherwise could not exist.
No amount is too small, so please pledge what you can so that we may reach our goal!
Please note that your donation is TAX DEDUCTIBLE! Our project is sponsored by the non-profit, FILMMAKERS ALLIANCE.
Thank you in advance for your support!!!
