Iain Armour and Jared Clark (Foxes and Peppers) have been writing and performing music together for 4 years, performing styles from quirky rock to orchestral soundtracks. Their first album, Hashtag: https://foxamoore.bandcamp.com/album/hashtag encountered success and launched what ended up being a longer tour than either party expected. The combination of vocals taken straight from They Might be Giants and strings out of something by Hans Zimmer, ended up making something new.
Fox and Pepper had an amazing time working on Hashtag. So much so, that they’re gonna do another one. “Spread Thy Wings” is bigger in scope, orchestration, instrumentation, and, critically, equipment. The goal of this project is to get enough money together to hire session musicians, rent Ocean Way studios in Nashville for 3 days and pay technicians/engineers. There will also be overhead costs for the printing of the CDs and (maybe) vinyls, along with the art and graphic design for said music discs.
How far this project goes is based entirely on what level of funding we receive. Our stated goal is what it’ll cost to rent the studio, and have us out to record the album, but we have bigger plans than that.
There are loads of extremely talented people in this fandom (furries), and we want to use this album to showcase some of them.
We have Rhubarb, a diversely talented multi-instrumentalist potentially doing bass and winds.
Alice, an electric guitar player that can shred to a degree far above Pepper.
Underbite, a drummer we’ve been doing a lot of work with and are anxious to get on an album with us.
Keith “Oddy” Lesinski, a sound engineer that has essentially come on tour with us over the last couple years due to all the convention shows we end up working together on.
The amount of polish, professionalism, and production value that this team could bring to the album cannot be understated. While we can do a lot with just the two of us, we can do so much more with this squad, and this studio time. Here are the specific amounts we’re estimating for each step we wanna take with this.
$12,000 (Paper) - Studio time and CD run/design fees.
$15,000 (bronze) - add Vinyl run of 500.
$18,000 (Silver) - add guest musicians (Rhubarb, Alice, Underbite, others)
$25,000 (Gold) - We will book a live choir of Nashville session musicians to bulk up the sound. A lot of these songs have a gospel flare, and a full choir will make a huge difference!
$35,000 (Diamond) - Live symphonic orchestra, with orchestration by Tonya Song (Tonya Wind Singer) who also worked with Fox on his previous studio albums, "The Dreamcatcher" and "Come Find Me". If you’ve heard our projects before, you know how much live strings can contribute to our style of songwriting. The people we want to hire are the same pool of musicians that have recorded a TON of cool video game soundtracks. Ori and the Blind Forest, The Last of Us, Fortnite, Mass Effect, MGS V: Phantom Pain, Ratchet and Clank, and on and on. For this much we’ll reach the full potential of the project, and be able to fund the various reward tiers.

Risks and challenges
Fox and Pepper have a lot of experience making albums, they just get a little bigger each time. They both have experience in studios, experience collaborating with multiple musicians, and experience running kickstarters. There will be challenges when it comes to the music, and writing addresses for a while on identical cardboard boxes, but there won’t be risks. We’ll make this happen for you in the biggest way possible.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
