Saturday evening at the Udon Entertainment panel at San Diego Comic-Con, studio founder Erik Ko announced a publishing deal with Harmony Gold, which will feature artbooks covering Robotech and the original Japanese Macross, Southern Cross and Mospeada series.

Udon will also be the publisher for the Kickstarter-exclusive Art of Robotech Academy book. Although an exact page count is not finalized, the target is for 96 pages and will feature the character and mecha designs for Robotech Academy.

We are also in talks with Palladium Books and Toynami for RPG and toy exclusives, so stay tuned!

Even if they are never able to make an anime out of this concept I hope they find someone to make a RPG out of it.

I am glad HG is paying attention to our ideas but looks like the decisions are coming in to late and with only 11 days I dont think Palladium would have enough time to produce game pieces and sheets based on Robotech Academy. Some of these things still need some final work and detailing and I dont see that happening in such a short time. As much as I like this project to move forward I agree with others that there needs to be a pause. Going after and durring con news is good but would have been better served as a survey launch than a kickstarter launch. Palladium had already news before hand with some ideas and already working in place with Ninja Divisions to produce a game. The RTRPG already behind and to takle RTA would only anger the other side who been waiting for a year. A pause would be nice for Palladium/Ninja Division to catch up and then help this project out. Not only that but the guys doing Robotech/Voltron almost done with the comics and able to work on more character designs that have been very little off since the get go.

I really hope this project is going thru, there are a lot of Robotech fans out there, exclusive toys and artword are always welcome :-)

I hope we get some content out of Robotech: Academy even if it's not a movie.

Third update on Palladium, and Toynami, you should have worked on something with them before the Kickstater.

I will be watching the updates with rapt attention, but am concerned that RPG and toy exclusives might be awesome, but too late to get the necessary funding. I hope I'm wrong because I really want this project to succeed.
