Risks and challenges
All the legwork has been done. After a long phase of making prototypes,
I am now ready to scale up. To achieve this I have started working together with The Netherlands’ biggest metal laser cutting company. As soon as I reach my goal of € 6000, the first production run of the ovens can start. Normally, a production run of 100 ovens should take around three weeks.
The other important thing are the stones. The high-quality cordierite baking stones are produced in France. I have been working with the same company for over a year now and know from experience that their quality is excellent.
There is a delivery time of three to seven weeks on the stones. To make sure the first production run of 100 ovens will run smoothly, I have already ordered 200 stones that should be delivered in the second week of May.
I have also made a reservation for a second production run of 100 ovens. That does mean that when sales exceed 200 ovens, the waiting time will be longer for anyone who is not among the first 200 backers.
For the shipment of the ovens I am working with FedEx. They have a great reputation for shipping goods around the world. They will handle the entire shipping process, from my workshop all the way to your front door.
They have the ability to scale up in order to ensure a quick turn-around between receiving the units to shipping them to you.
