Lets keep pushing until the last minute folks!
We are proud to include a new reward! this shirt has been specially designed by artist Brack Kustom Graphics exclusively for this film.
Everyone who orders (or has aready ordered) a package including a t-shirt will be able to choose between this awesome design and the designed showed below "faster faster faster".
The World´s Fastest is a documentary project - it tells the story of eighty-something year old men, who build handcrafted rocket-like vehicles in their backyard garages. Men who are inspiring, men who show that is never to early or to late to find your real passion and a true meaning of life.
We want to honour the achievments of those men, when they embark on the ride on what may be their last race at Bonneville.
It is a tribute to the vanishing era of internal combustion and fossil fuel racing. It tells the story of a generation of Speedseekers who cherish the smell of gasoline and oil like the very air we breathe; people whose sense of purpose is tied to the creation of record setting vehicles. They are powered by absolute devotion, friendship, and the ambition to win—from the first turn of the wrench all the way to the starting line at Bonneville. A magical place that is now in danger.
Regardless of what the future may or may not hold for the salt, as its conditions are getting worse and worse, we cannot let the world go on withough capturing a piece of racing history.
Let’s make this movie together!
The Bonneville Saltflats are located 1.5 hours west from Salt Lake City. They are an endless expanse of white - so big, that you can see the curvature of the earth!
Our protagonists all share a love for speed, for the excitement of stepping on the gas, for going faster and faster and faster... And Bonneville is this one place on earth where you can put your foot on the gas and leave it there .. for five miles...at full throttle.
But that is not all! Land Speed Racing is about inventing, creating, experiencing and learning. It’s about exceeding boundaries, natural, technical and personal. For some people, even finding their purpose in life.
So far these Land Speed Racing Pioneers have agreed to open up their garages to us. To give us the opportunity to have a look behind the scenes of Land Speed Racing and the magic of Bonneville more intense and personal as never before.
All our backers will receive official updates and will be named on the website's wall of fame!
And there is more! You have a huge heart and some extra bucks?

We are a filmmaking duo, consisting of director/photographer Alexandra Lier and producer Laia Gonzalez.
This project is our passion. It is an independent film in which we are pouring our heartblood into it without earning any profit. Our goal is to create an unseen art documentary on very inspiring men and bring their story to well known film festivals. We believe this story can be inspiring to all of you.
Alexandra Lier's obsession with fast cars, customs, racing and its attendant culture began back in 1999 when she first visited Bonneville for Speedweek. Every year she travels to at least one land speed racing event, camera in hand, to document the people and the cars. Her books Speedseekers and The World's Fastest Place have been very successful.
Laia Gonzalez has been making films her whole life. She started her professional career in TV production, moved on to Advertising with particular focus on the automotive industry. In recent years, she has further specialised on her passion for documentary.
We believe in this film – and in Kickstarter. This platform gives us the possibility to raise money and hopefully build a strong fan base, that is as excited as we are to see this project come to life.
We are aiming to produce the World’s Fastest documentary, in every sense. Traditional funding takes a lot of time and involves a very complicated production process. This project has quite unique needs - Speedweek is fast approaching and time is of the essence for our veteran protagonists to be ready for the start line. Our small and efficient crew will start shooting as soon as the funds kick in, and we will end shooting when Speedweek is over – this August.
The fate of this project is now in your hands. So get on board and join the team!
Our goal is to raise 58.000 €. In the past weeks we have done a lot of maths and want to offer you total transparecy:
Payment Fees (10 %): for Kickstarter and payment companies
Reward Fulfillment (15 %): for the production of rewards, including sponsorship of our protagonists
Travel Expenses (20 %): for flights, accomodation and food for the crew
Production (55 %): for equipment, insurance, shooting permits, accounting, editing
The costs do not include any crew fees or salaries. We have built a team of passionate people that are willing to support us with their talent. We will start covering crew fees and salaries only if we surpass our funding goal.
This campaign was a team effort! with the help and support from a lot of talented people, we made it happen. Thank you guys!

Risks and challenges
We will have several challenges and risks to overcome in order to successfully complete this project.
First and foremost is funding! This is where you come in. We strongly believe that together, we will reach our funding goal, and have worked hart to keep production lean!
In addition to Kickstarter, we are applying to receive post production funds.
The second biggest challenge we have to overcome is the weather factor. Unfortunately, we can’t control the status of the Salt Flats.
There have been some years where the lake didn’t dry out in time for Speedweek to take place. In those cases, the SCTA pushed Speedweek to October. In the event this years race is postponed, we’ll have to adapt to the filming schedule accordingly. This would mean that we would finish the film at a later date.
This brings us to the next point: post production. Finishing a film always come with its challenges and it is possible that post production process can take longer than planned. However, we have an experienced team who has handled complex productions before and we know how to keep things within budget and on time.
In the event that any timing issues arise, be assured we'll update you every step of the way.
Lastly: running a Kickstarter campaign, and the fulfilment of rewards is harder than most expect. We are aware of the costs associated with our promised rewards so we won't get stuck spending all of our funding on T-shirts and will still have enough to complete the film.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
