Hey folks, thanks to you all for helping to boost the project so far in so little time, I'm blown away! And a HUGE cheers for taking the time to spread the word about the book on twitter etc, it has allowed lots of new people to discover the campaign. Your generosity in going to the effort of helping the book in that way is very much appreciated. THANK YOU!

One of the great things about a sketchbook is that I get to show not only finished illustrations, but also the stages of production - roughs, inks etc. Here's a few examples from the character design chapter, enjoy!

Lorenzo!

Aha! haha :). It makes sense! Putting the tools at hand to good use.

Ah, yes well the monster house was HALF drawn by hand, and then flipped in the computer :) No way I have the skills to draw something like that symmetrically!

Wow! Ballpoint pen? I would not have guessed that. The monster house looks like a mirror image so I thought it might have been digital. These are so cool. Thanks again for sharing the process.

Hey David! Thanks, man! I do a real mixture - all these characters were inked digitally, whereas the characters and the monster house in updates 1 and 2 were all done by hand with a ball point pen. I tend to go digital for comics work, and traditional (pen and ink) for concepts and one-off stuff.
      Cheers pal! More soon!

My favorite update so far! Do you do your inking on paper or in the computer.. or both :). Thanks!
