About this project
This documentary tells the story of forsaken youth left to survive on the streets of Nairobi, Kenya.
Michael Mungai is a former street boy himself, who got the chance to return to school after being featured in a documentary film as a child. In this film, Michael returns to the streets of Nairobi after his first year of college in the USA, where he tries to salvage the lives of those still left behind through an organization he helped found. Back on the streets where he grew up, Michael runs up against a friend from his own street days who seems destined to remain there forever, the local drug dealer who is clearly conflicted about his toxic role in the boys' lives, a lone street girl who's latest baby is being perilously raised with the boys on the streets, and a young boy named Kabro who just might be fresh enough to the street life to be saved from it.
