@Calvin - I asked my fulfillment partner about this (you weren't the only one who got an unnecessarily large box) and they said they simply ran out of appropriately-sized boxes at one point; I asked them to do what they can to avoid that in future shipments. Agreed it's not ideal.
Extremely disappointed in how these were shipped. Mine came in an unnecessarily huge box. Product is great, I enjoyed the book. But please think more about how these are shipped.
HI Laura, is there any way you can send a pdf of the coloring pages? I failed to make photo copy for my other son!
Got it today and read it to our oldest boy tonight before bed. We all loved it. Thanks for this.
I just realized I have moved since I backed this project and didn't update my address. I've updated it now, but could you check to see if my books shipped already? If they have I can get in touch with the folks at my old address, but just wanted to check.
I need to change my address I moved since I sent my survey in
I am so happy you have done this! congratulations. My wish is for all kids in public schools to be able to have access to this book.
so proud and excited!!!! this is exactly what we need now!
Way to go, Laura! So proud to contribute to the book. <3
Awesome, congrats, Laura! Can't wait to see it!
Congrats, Laura! And thank you. This is so awesome.
This looks so great! Would have loved the hard copy, but the delivery to the UK is so high, never mind! We have got what we can get and we HOPE this book becomes available globally! It would be well deserved! We'll definitely buy it WHEN it makes its way onto Amazon or a bookstore in London! We loved Mr. Obama too, he was ALL of ours world-wide! And, in comparison to what we are being subjected to now? We just have to keep that fond memory of hope, decency and change alive! Thank you Laura Olin!
I grew up with children’s books profiling the achievements of Washington, Jefferson and Lincoln. Their humanity, integrity and professional bearing, if not explicitly stated, was assumed. Today, we no longer take the character of the President for granted. In an atmosphere heavy with bombastic proclamations emboldening ignorance, intolerance and division; this smartly composed and illustrated book reassures readers that our best leaders are thoughtful, caring and inclusive.
@Chris - now updated!! Sorry about that!
Hi Laura, Can you update the permissions on the Google Form that you linked to from your Project Update #3 email. Currently it says "You need permission. This form can only be viewed by users in the owner's organization."
When President Obama was elected in 2008, I was hanging out with two of my colleagues' sons, ages 7 and 9 or somewhere around there at the time. I asked them what they thought about the election, and S. said it would be "cool to see his face on the wall." I asked what he meant, and he told me: "In my classroom at school, they have pictures of all the presidents hung up in a row. Now there will be someone who looks like me and maybe I could be president one day, too." I can't wait to share this book with the families in my life whose kids need to know that we're counting on them to dream bigger than the current moment seems to allow.
I love that family so much - I am so happy to give this to my family!
I am crying. Thank you, Laura.
A President was called Barack. Your current President is called Trump.
Lucky backer #13! So excited for my signed copy!
