The Light! It Burns!
Hello again, friends, to another edition of... CITY QUEST UPDATE! We're your hosts, Jon and Ryan, now let's get started!
Welcome to summer (at least for our side of the ball)! The time of year when that scary ball in the sky makes things slightly warmer, and our shirts slightly damper.
This one will be a bit of a short one, but for good reason! A bit of the art this month is in the heavy spoiler category, so we're going to stay away from sharing that. In addition, much of Ryan's work was spent on plugins, bug fixes, subsystems, and other things not terribly interesting for an update.
That being said, we do have some art and music to share, as well as one big announcement that a few of you have probably already seen. We'll save that bit for the end though!
Let's jump to it!
All of the art this month comes from Little Italy! As you may guess, this is the primary base of operations for the Mafia questline! As with everything, there may yet be polish to go into some of the scenes, but these are the initial versions.
Oh, and you'll be pleased to see another minigame!
Here's a little tease...
Akash dropped another track on us for the month, this one to go with all the pretty art from last month: Little Tokyo! It's a beauty of a track, so give it a listen!
On the story side of things, we're pleased to announce that one storyline is now completed (save a bit of art for the ending), and fully playable. You'll be pleased to hear that, in our completely unbiased opinions, it is awesome.
Also... get it... Odds 'n Ends? Look at that shining wit.
Alrighty, now... onto the last thing...
Yes! That's right folks! You and a bunch more savvy gamers have pushed our way onto Steam! As such (and, as promised), you'll all be getting a Steam key for the game once it releases!
We've already begun work integrating Steamworks into City Quest and it's gone (mostly) swimmingly. The Steam overlay is working, distribution (at least for us, since it's private yet) is set up and running through the client, and achievements are... achievable. Exciting day!
Now, of course, we promised a DRM free copy of the game, and we're not going back on that by any means, so you'll be able to download the game pretty much wherever we can give it to you!
We'll leave you today by once more saying thanks for a year of support (and for some of you much more than a year)... and also a gif! Forgive the artifacting of the gifification process!
