Back to School?

Happy September, friends! Jon and Ryan here again to sing you sweet nothings on this late summer evening! Oh, and happy back-to-school for all you young people... or old people playing catch-up.

As we approach our Kickstarter estimated launch date, we'd like to once again mention, that we're still shooting for a late November launch at this point, and we're working as hard as possible to get this thing in your hands! That being said, here's what we've been up to!

As we've mentioned in the past, we fell in love with the idea of minigames, and we've been putting them all over! We've shown you a few still images in the past, but now we'd like to show you a few gifs of the minigames that are currently working in-game!
As usual, no context is provided, because it'll be fun to find the context on your own!

Flower Dowser

Banjo Weirdo

Piñata Hijinks

We've got a few other minigames functional right now, but we're going to save those for you to come across yourselves (believe it or not, a hastily thought up minigame early in the political storyline turned out to be quite funny).

Here are a few shots from the new areas we've been working on!

We've also got a few other things we wanted to show you!

First off, we've added Achievements!
Here's a little taste of the first achievement you'll get (for completing the tutorial)!

We've also started adding a few Puzzles! Some folks love 'em, some folks hate 'em, but they'll be there! We're also going to make an effort to include "easy" versions of some of the harder puzzles, but if you take the easy versions, you won't be getting any special Achievements for completing the hard versions!

Here's a teaser for one of the puzzles (without the key puzzle part, so no spoilers!).

...with a closeup of the pedestal in the middle:

Feel free to speculate where this might come into play, but we're not telling :).

Physical Goods
We've got responses from nearly everyone about their physical goods, and we're going to order the Shirts and Posters quite soon. Unfortunately, we won't be able to order the boxed copies until we've got a release candidate of the game (and even then, there may be first day patches, we'll see how it goes!). Nevertheless, we'll be contacting the few folks that haven't responded yet directly, and we'll show them off once we get them in!

Last but not least:

This update, we've only got one shout out to give, but it's a pretty neat looking game:

Elementary, My Dear Holmes! - A point and click adventure staring everybody's favorite sidekick, John Watson. These folks are raising funds for the next few weeks, and it seems like something you folks might be interested in, so give it a look!

As always, feel free to drop us a line if you see another game folks here might be into!

That's all for now. Back to work we go!

Yeah, we posted another update about that shoutout. Basically we say it's a cool looking project, but back at your own risk as it looks sketchy :P.

As for your description, I think we're going just a tad more subtle lol.

The win game text is something like "Congratulations! You filled those flowers full! Really full. Like, so full, they're about to burst! They must be super satisfied. Good job!"
and the lose game text is "Booo! Your performance was abysmal. You should be ashamed at how incredibly unsatisfied those flowers are."

We may drop a bit more suggestion in the instruction text though ;)

LOL the project in the shout out was nearly 100% backed by bots (aka, one person) and the project creators play dumb...
      Interesting!
Now for your update.. the mini games look like great ironic fun! Needs a few suggestive description words in "Flower Dowser" to fit with the squirt gun.. like "Position your pumper in front of the young flowers and build up pressure until they bend over, dripping wet while you release your juice"

      Looking great.

You guys are like Videlectrix on crack, and it's so much fun to watch.

Great update! Looking forward to the boxed copy. In fact I'm holding out playing the game until it arrives.

Great update despite the shout out! Its looking great.

@Ryan and Jon... Does seem to be quite sad as the project is a great idea and seems like it would be fun to play.

    7. Jon on September 3, 2013

@Riggo: I just read through your post. That is shady as all get-out.

Hmm, that does seem pretty sketch. Admittedly, I didn't know much about all this business. They contacted me a few weeks ago, and I thought it looked like a neat project, so I tossed them a shout out.

Too bad... it seems like a fun game :/

    9. Riggo on September 3, 2013

Okay... Comments up... Now do you want to rethink the shout-out?

    10. Riggo on September 3, 2013

Other than that, nice update. :-)

@Ryan... Wait to give the shout out to Holmes until I have finished my investigative reporting post! Just sayin'...
