Sorry for the delay. We are still planning on finishing those up.
We're planning to post an update in the next week or so to update you all on where we stand at the moment, and why we've been a bit quiet over the past few months.
We'll also detail the future plans at this point.
Any word on the boxed copies?
August 20, almost near! (^_^)b
Is there any idea of a release date yet? (10 months after I last asked)
So, we're still a bit hesitant with release estimates just because we have been so far off in the past. We're likely not going to set a date until we've only got polish and bug fixing left.
That being said (and take this with a grain of salt), we're doing our best to push for a late fall release. We do want to release a nice, polished, bug free experience for everyone, though, so this may shift.
Thanks for your patience. We're eager to get this beast in your hands!
Is there any estimate of a release date yet?
Is there any way to upgrade my tier? I want the soundtrack and to be famous with my name on the screen.
Hey Douglas! We're still plugging away! We'll have another update probably sometime next week!
Things are still pretty busy on our end! We're definitely trying to crank this thing out as soon as possible, but we're also trying to resist the urge to cut corners! We're also dying to show you all some of the hilarious stuff we've got in-game, but most of it is a bit spoiler-y, so we've resisted!
Thanks for the patience and support! It's so very appreciated!
*Goes off to find a place to put a naked, hanging man in game*
I want to play this game so bad! I just saw David Carradine on TV and came here to see if there's something new. Keep on going, guys. I'll make sure I will die in every way the game let me. Bye!
And updates the people shall have!
Working on one as we speak :)
The people demand updates!
Not at all, I also just read that somewhere, probably from a movie I guess :)
Dude, Thomas. You are really good at making references I don't get haha. How bad should I feel for not getting them?
Send in the Walrus!
I'm sorry for the frustration!
Thank you Ryan for clearing things up.. :)
Hi Jonathan, I'm sorry, I haven't seen any emails from your address at our support address, but I'm sending you an email right now. I'm sorry about this!
Can't log in to http://rewards.cityquestgame.com. No response from email@example.com. Just got Last notice to collect reward. Mind telling me what I should do!??
The pizza is done.
No problem Ryan. ;-)
If anybody is looking for another little guy to help out, come to the name in my title. :-)
Still a ways off yet, Riggo :). We should have another bigger update in a week or two though :).
Done yet!?!?!? :-)
Oops just read the update(i.e Precinct), my bad, cool a demo to play!
Fellow adventure gamers , Jim Walls Police Quest spiritual successor has begun and it needs you!
Nice to hear from you, Ryan! I'll be following you here and at Steam Greenlight all the way to the game release (and away). I'm pretty sure you have a lot to do, and I'll just sit and wait for the news! No more Carradine jokes, at least, not today. See ya!
Hey Douglas! The last big news we had was announcing OUYA, Android and iOS support last week (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1376534446/city-quest-a-point-and-click-adventure/posts/511239) and the clarifying followup (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1376534446/city-quest-a-point-and-click-adventure/posts/511731).
Not too much big news beyond that. We're about to sign the contract with our composer and he'll be starting work on music for us soon. Otherwise, we've been nose-down working on the fulfillment site (which we need to get up so our NPCs can send us pictures), and a preorder site.
The actual game is trucking along, but there's not a lot to show that's new yet haha. We'll probably showcase some of the other areas once they're a bit more done :).
Hi there! Any news? I'm just checking all the projects I've helped to fund.
And let everybody vote for City Quest at Steam Greenlight!
Great work! It sounds like you guys are doing a lot with very little, impressed. I backed mostly because of the OR demo (just because it was cool) and the overall theme and sense of humour. Good luck in the future!
Haha, well, there's certainly a bit of relief, but still lots of stuff to do.
Working out taxes, and the logistics of shipping rewards and all that.
Then there's also putting the money to good use (we've got some awesome news coming soon on that point!!), and actually making the game, right? Haha!
It looks like you're trekking along to cross the finish line here too! That's awesome! One last little push should do it, eh?!
Ryan: Tell me more about what it is like when the Kickstarter is over? Is it as much of a blissful relief as I imagine?
Congratulations on the success!
I am looking forward to the game. :)
We definitely shall once we've got some fun stuff to show :).
It'll take a little bit to ramp back up. I think we're getting together, so we'll work on the plan for the next few weeks then! :)
Be sure to post lots of backer only sneak peek behind scenes screenshot or animation updates.
Hah, oh man, I wish! We've got a ways to go buddy ;)
We're still a bit in recovery mode, transitioning from Kickstart mode into work mode again, it's actually a little weird not fussing about setting up the kickstarter or making art for the kickstarter or trying to market the kickstarter. Crazy pants! :)
Is it done yet? ;-)
Congratulations Ryan! :)
I am so glad you successfully funded. Well done!
I don't want to sound like I'm pandering, but we have actually been talking about the Vita as well. Again, we'll need to look more into that as well, but with Sony pledging its support to indies, this is an appealing platform to us :)
What about the PS Vita? Touchscreen would be perfect.
Sleep is for the weak. These are not "the weak". These are (literally) Monkey Men made of Stone. Amirite??
Sleeeeeeep. Yeah, I was still asleep.
As for the WiiU, what Jon said. We're going to at least look into it and see what happens :).
And @Douglas, money, support, and friendship all count for lots! It really is great to see that we're kind of on the right direction with this :), it does make it all a bit easier!
Ryan may still be in a coma, but I may be able to answer your question :P.
@Antonio: Ryan and I both want to get the game out on as many platforms as possible (including the WiiU, if they will take us :P). The engine does support porting to the WiiU and I love the idea of putting it on a Nintendo console... I'm pretty bummed that Unity doesn't currently have any plans for 3DS support, as I feel that would be perfect for City Quest.
@Ryan: Does the engine allow you to port the game to, saaaay, the Wii U? If so, it might be time to apply for a dev kit!
I was away from home, but now I'm back (to let you know I can really shake 'em down)!
You now can have a party and have some fun, cause I know that is a lot of hard work coming. Talking about "party" and "coming", just take some care to not kill yourselves, you know, the Carradine way.
You already have my money and my support and my friendship. Altogether, I know it doesn't count much, but that's all I got to offer now.
You deserve it, and lots more. I hope your studio to succeed and keep the good games coming!
Ok, Amazon says my payment has now succeed. My card must have been lower on funds than I calculated. I epic failed at accounting.
Hrm, my payment didn't go through. Trying to figure out what happened now, sorry about that.
Kevin: We've got a paypal account, but really no system for it right now. Since we'll have to build a fulfillment system at some point anyway, we'll probably wind up including preorder support :). The neat thing is, with our engine, it's not much overhead to port. Most of the overhead just comes from the needed licensing and the console itself to test on :).
We'll address all this stuff in an update once we've had some time to chat about it!
Hey guys, open a PayPal account so late arrivers can still fund up to the OUYA goal. Seriously, there are not many good games on OUYA as of now and City Quest would stand above and beyond what's out there. You'd probably kill it with digital sales.
S.D.: I fear that time is long gone, I dont' even find people who want to watch animes on my couch together.
Yep! It will be riotous. I would really like to see it come to the OUYA console; it's such a new gaming ecosystem that we could help carve out a nice adventure-gaming fan base there. Maybe it can still happen, somehow! I love the idea of sharing the couch with friends and/or family and working puzzles together (like we did in front of a computer together, back in the 80's and 90's).
It got funded!
I knew that it was worth of it spreading the word and working for this game!
Horray horray horray!!
