What is it?
PolyKeys is a free service that teaches you how to type in multiple languages. The website is currently available in English, Ukrainian, and Russian, and contains typing lessons for English and Russian.

Who would use it?
PolyKeys is for anyone trying to learn a new language or improve his or her communication in a non-native language. For example, if you're a native English speaker trying to learn Russian, your progress will be hindered when it comes to typing on the keyboard because the Russian language has a completely different alphabet and keyboard than what you're accustomed to. The same is true for Russians trying to learn and practice English. That's why PolyKeys was created: it teaches anyone how to type in the language he or she is studying.
How does it work?
PolyKeys is built upon the idea of repetition; however, you won't be taught to type in the typical left-to-right home-row-first fashion. PolyKeys teaches you how to type the characters and words of a specific language in order of importance, meaning you'll learn the most commonly used letters and words first, and those least commonly used last. Makes sense, doesn't it?
You can also improve your typing speed and accuracy with PolyKeys; the software measures how many errors you made, and how many words per minute you typed. You can even track your progress to see how much you've improved.
What are your plans?
If funded, I plan on creating typing lessons and website translations for the top ten languages of the internet (English, Mandarin, Spanish, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese, German, Arabic, French, Russian, and Korean), all while keeping the site 100% free for users. Only eight more languages to go!
I'd like the service to remain free for all users. Unfortunately, as a college student, I can't fund the project myself. That's why I need your help. Your donation could help break the barriers of communication for millions of people all over the world. Even $5 helps.
