What Happens Next :)

Hey there everyone, Dani here again. I’m sure you have already realized, but we have officially made it through Kickstarter!! Thank you all so so much for all the amazing support getting us through. Not just the pledges, but the great feedback and all the support spreading the word and everything else you have been doing to help us reach even further than our original goal.

While we fell just $1,500 short of the prologue chapter stretch goal, don’t worry, we will be adding paypal onto our website in the next day or two to continue the campaign for a bit (for those that missed us on kickstarter, or the many backers who simply weren't able to use kickstarter). Basically, things should hopefully work out for the prologue chapter :)

So, what happens from here?

Well, in this next week or so I’ll be sending out surveys and a few messages to collect the details on add-ons and shipping addresses for those that need physical rewards (this might be a little slow, I'm actually in the middle of moving and need to be out of here by the 15th...amazing timing right? :| ).

Then, I will be creating more designs for the small print before finally putting them all up for everyone to vote on before being printed out and sent. Don’t worry, the vote will remain up for a while on our website, so there will be plenty of time to let your voice be heard. I'll be making a small announcement with an update here to let you all know when that is ready.

Of course, between all this we will also be pushing ahead with production on Bloom (since, well, that is the main goal after all). For those who selected the alpha updates, this should begin in a month or two when we have our alpha update system set up and are ready to push more builds out (so we will be sending you messages on that when it is ready).

Then, down the road a bit when things calm down and the small prints are shipped, we will begin handling more of the rewards (such as designs for the t-shirt, and the large print). So please drop into our subreddit from time to time if you are interested in seeing progression on those (I’ll be posting work in progress sketches open for feedback).

Don’t worry, when we do the final voting for the t-shirt and large print, I’ll make an announcement here on Kickstarter just to let you all know that is finally ready and needing to be selected.

Hopefully that gives a better idea of what to expect next and how we plan to handle things so that they won’t get in the way of development too much. And, don’t forget, I’m always around if you want to say hi or have any questions.

Anyhow, we really can’t express our gratitude enough to everyone who made this campaign possible. It is thanks to you that we have what we need to really push ahead and hopefully make a game that you can all be proud of.

@Anastasia - Things are going pretty well (other than being sick the last few days haha). Today I've just been working out the map more (apparently yellow was the color I was looking for :|

Anyhow, we will be doing a bigger update in a week or two with what has been going on. Just waiting on getting the poll for the small prints up on our website first (ran into a little snag getting that up, and don't want to do the update without it).

      So how y'all doing? :)

Studio Fawn - when a kickstarter ends, you can go to Backer Reports you can export and the file will give you all email addresses attached to the backer's profiles. Many kickstarters use other surveys as the one provided here is pretty limited (We used BackerKit which allows backers to log-in and edit their responses at any time). :]

@Raul - We can send messages through KS, but they don't provide us with direct emails as far as I can tell.

If I may suggest a Kickstarter worth looking at: Jason the Greek.

It is a point and click about Jason and the Golden Fleece in the vein of Monkey Island, but with a bit of Star Trek in there :-). (don't ask, just check it out).

What about using Surveymonkey or something similar? Does KS offer some database with all backers contact emails in order to use them on any other platform or is it exclusively restricted to their surveys?

    7. Stavros Tsiakalos on December 11, 2013

I think I remember devs in another project saying that Kickstarter only allows one survey to be send out. So it is always good to hold off on the survey until you are certain that you are getting all the info you need.
Otherwise you may have to look into alternative ways of handling surveys. Perhaps its worth looking into something like backerkit (a few other projects seem to do so).

@S.D. - That is some great advice. We need to get the smaller prints out to backers sooner than later though. Perhaps doing a survey for those who have that reward, and then another survey closer to the bulk of the other rewards?

    9. S.D. on December 11, 2013

Guys, don't survey us anytime soon. Seriously. Backers will move addresses it will be a complete nightmare. If you take no other advice from me, I implore you to hold off on the survey until (close to) Bloom's release date. Fulfillment will take longer than you think, and more effort as well. Pretty much every KS I've backed has had that experience :-)

@Orson - Yea, the timing with this move is pretty bananas. I was even so busy with the KS, that I didn't find a place yet!! I'm actually going to take over a friends room while he is in Japan for a bit.

It will all get sorted out though, just one of those things :) And bonus, I'll be saving money by finding a way cheaper place :)

Other Kickstarters Worth Looking At: One. That is all. Just Dex.

Heh :P Sorry, just thought it was funny.

You know what's an awesome kickstarter?? Wild Season! :D It's a game inspired by Harvest Moon (and some other games) and it looks super exciting! n__n

Anyways, getting back on track with the update, that all sounds pretty good, other than the lousy timing for your move! x__x

Hope everything goes well for you~ :3 Well, as well as it can be expected to go. Moving is always a huge pain and hassle!

      Good luck!
