Getting Crispy :|
Hey everyone, time for another exciting update!
So... I'm sure you've realized that since I didn't post an update last month....that things did not, in fact, go as planned.
Essentially it has been a huge pain finding someone to come in and help finish up the last bits. I ended up trying to work with 4 or 5 different people while I kept trying to get my work done :| But, finally someone stuck and we were able to get through the last list of issues.
Currently we just need to get the credits screen in and the menu during the game cleaned up (which, hopefully will be done this week? The person helping out is doing it very part time...so.... it makes scheduling fairly difficult, obviously).
Other than that the game is all done and I've been running through the story mode and the gauntlet mode trying to catch anything we missed :) I gotta say things turned out pretty ok! Should be a fun time.
Here is the trailer, let me know what you think.
Backers wise I'm not tooo sure what to do with Labyrinth. I think I'll probably send out copies to those at higher tiers? But the lower end tier (like the 10$) I think still pretty fair just getting Memories. Even though that is taking a lot longer than expected, it is also a lot bigger than first expected (aiming for a 30$ price point now).
Though if anyone doesn't think that Memories is going to come (or just tired of waiting), and just wants to take Labyrinth and Faucet instead, I'd have no problem with that (Labyrinth is going for $20 price point...unless I get cold feet in the last moments and go down to $15....how brave do I feel? :P).
It's an opportunity for anyone to pull the ripcord if they just are frustrated with how things are going. (I'd completely understand, the way this has gone has not been ...ideal....)
Anyhow, let me know in a private message and I'll get you a key and mark it down on my end :) Physical stuff will have to wait till Memories though (since I'll be producing them at once and shipping them at once). I'll remind everyone of this in a few (hopefully) days once I the game goes live also.
At this point I'm glad Labyrinth is done (basically), just in time since I think I'm getting a lot more burnt out haha. This next year will be some big changes happening in my life, one way or another....so hopefully a bit of shake up gets the blood flowing again.
BUT FIRST release plans means the game will soft launch on itch.io....and then I'll try and jump in to finish Faucet up an put that on steam hopefully within the next month. If not, Faucet might have to get delayed a bit as I'm going into surgery in a bit over a month (which will take me out for a week or two? Not too sure. I'm getting extensive facial surgery....which....will be interesting. I guess if I'm going to rob a bank I have a month to do it for the perfect crime :P).
The Next Year
Longer term plans is I'd like to keep improving Labyrinth for future console releases (so stuff like adding in multiplayer and trying to generally improve performance on lower end systems)....hopefully while Memories is getting finished....but I could see that happening also after Memories is out and I try to take them both to new platforms?
It's a bit hard to plan out next year without knowing what happens with Labyrinth. I've used up all my chips getting this far....so once I know what I'm working with I'll be able to plan out the finishing of Memories and all that jazz.
Ideally if everything goes great, I'll go get a small boat...move in (would save a lot on rent!)....work on finishing Memories...and continue a slow descent into madness as I float around singing?
Anyhow, I'll be doing another update prettyyy soon (this better really be 'soon' this time....! -flips a table-) once the game goes live. :) So stay tuned!
