A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:
Proof of Concept
Explorations that test ideas and functionality.
Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.
Looks like the final product, but is not functional.
Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.
Appearance, function, and manufacturing methods match the final product.
As a Analogue photography lover ,
We believe old things, old memories should not be forgotten, However its time for revolution.
Digital camera seems like take over the world in 2000s. With the increasing sophistication of the advanced technology, we are reading images in all sorts of media almost in a daily basis. Not forgetting the heritage aspects of Photography, here we are going to uplift the face of Analogue camera.
What is your choice between Digital & Analog Photography? Why not both?
Film35 can adapt to your forgotten old camera or your father’s old camera without traditional limitation from NOW!
Break the ordinary
Film35 converts your traditional Analogue camera into a digital one. Arousing our senses through
the sensor, shutter sound, lens and film roll without losing touch with moving digital market.
The unique experience of using Film35 can keep your photo with Analogue vintage sensation in a digital way. The forgotten charm of Analogue camera will be awakening Analogue Photography lovers once more.
What is Film35
The primary characteristics of the spool-wound photographic film shall retain in our design. The cartridge of Film35 will be in proportion to fit onto all major Analogue cameras. With CMOS sensor, micro memory card, battery and Wi-Fi device etc. in one gadget.
Users can easily adjust EV & ISO by connecting it through mobile electronic devices to enhance the photography. Nevertheless, experiencing the characteristics of familiar film types via the custom made mobile APP.
Film35 sets you no limitation on the number of photo taking and the impact of ISO while you can use the traditional Analogue camera, which you have kept at home for so many years. You can perform any style of photo shooting with your traditional Analogue camera including Snapshot and Tourism Photography.
Users can easily adjust EV & ISO via Film35 App and they can experience the characteristics of familiar film types.
Film35 App has 6 preset film styles.
Selected package can unlock 3 more film styles and we are currently developing more film styles and will launch in the near future.
Retro + Revolution
Digital camera seems taking over the world in 2000s and people never look back. It is a perfect opportunity for us to introduce it back to the public mass, especially younger generations as well. Rather than letting the lack of new gear to get them down, this great time for them to crack open some new film canisters, tagging some new technologies along. Film35 allows camera's feature, configurations and structure to be retained. It gives high flexibility with interchanging mode between analogue and digital cameras.
Awakening the forgotten charm of Analogue cameras, connecting the old and new through one gadget.
The new Era of Analogue Photography
Film35 would create a new insight of traditional Analogue camera to you. Its unique charm will give you an unforgettable photo-shooting experience. The new era of Analogue Photography hereby established with the help of new photography experience.
Now you have no hesitation to snap anywhere! You don’t need to think about the cost. You don't need to wait long for film developed. And you can get the photo immediately by connecting Wi-Fi. The unique photography experience only can deliver by Film35.
To add value for the product, we will continuously develop as many styles of the films as we can in order to offer a wide selection for photography lovers.
[Experiment 1] upload at 20/09/2018
As some of you may have questions on how the sensor works with your film camera, so we decided to share the experiment we made earlier.
We were using raspberry pi system and a ¼” CCD (sensor) to adapt to the film camera and trying to test the camera functionality when the shutter fully opens. The result shown that the sensor works smoothly with the camera as we expected. The adaptation didn't harm the construction of the camera, the lens and all of the functions working well.
Enjoy the video & Stay tuned with us!

This video shown another experiment on how the sensor work on Rangefinder film camera. It also function well in the Leica RF film camera.
What we are using in the video...
Camera : Leica M3 Lens: Summer 5cm f2
Stay tune with us and we'll keep to shoot & share!
Ambient light sensor testing [Experiment 2] upload at 05/10/2018
How does exposure work? Did it work in low light ? We are going to answer those questions in this video. We were trying to test the sensitivity of the ambient light sensor which we are going to adopt to Film35. After switched on the device, the ambient light sensor would immediate in standby mode and getting ready to sense the light once the shutter is opened. When you are in a dark environment, the data will display 255, as long as the sensor sense any light , the data display will go down. It means when you are doing long exposure at daylight , the data will remain at a low level. When the ambient light sensor in the darkness area (inside the film chamber), the data will display 255, when you click the shutter such as 1/60s, as long as we set the data below 253 or 252, the system will work with the CMOS to shoot. Therefore we can adjust the sensitivity of the subsequent sample on different cameras to solve the low light problem and reduce the chance of delay.
Next we will put the ambient light sensor and the CMOS together to test the speed as well as the exposure.
Risks and challenges
The idea of Film35 have been born in 2015 and we have kept developing on the mechanical , try and error on the mock up over these years and finally we can have done the prototype before we announce this idea.
Funding Clearing the startup financing hurdle has never been easy for the design industry. The idea of Film35 has arrived, we need the capital in launching the product. Find, and invest in tomorrow's 'designer founder' through this platform for our ideas to flourish.
Let’s make the new Era of Analogue Photography happen.
