Free-Form Dungeon Building
Have you ever had your adventuring party come across a fantastic place and then have to compromise on setting up the walls to outline that place? Does it take forever to draw it or, like me, you can't draw a circle or a straight line? Why does every corner have to be 90°? Why do I have to buy a separate set of walls to make a wall at a 45° angle or a narrow hallway?
These thoughts lingered in my mind and led me to design this wall system that I have been tinkering with for years. I wanted to be able to make flowing curves, strange shapes, and still make standard 90°corners as well. I also wanted to avoid having to dig through a large box of terrain consisting of dozens of different shapes and connectors.

Add magnets... (optional)
Make some Magnetic Game Mats.... (Optional)
Then have fun!
The game mats and magnets combine to make the terrain stable against violent table bumps (a.k.a. Tablequakes).
Things you can do with Shield Wall Gaming Terrain.
This first picture is set up on a foam grid on a Lazy Susan. There are magnets in the walls but the foam is not magnetic and it is still very stable. If you want to make your own check it out here at Dungeon Craft.
These next pictures are examples of magnetic game mats made with neoprene battle mats instead of felt.
Magnets and connections
Where the magnets go and how the pieces meet can be seen in the following pictures. This joining method allows for the ability to make rounded rooms or narrowing halls.
The walls are designed for a one inch movement/scaling system. There are one inch and two inch long wall sections. The height of the walls is about 38mm and the hight of the door frames pieces are about 56mm.
