NEW STRETCH GOALS - You asked for it and now you got it!

Hi everyone,

Thanks to your feedback from the last update we have included two new stretch goals.

NEW STRETCH GOALS

Two new stretch goals

Programmable LUMA DICE

By far the most requested feature and we are ready to add this to LUMA DICE! You will now be able to change the color of the LED's on LUMA DICE.

How can I do this you ask? Simple. Just by shaking LUMA DICE for 30 seconds continuously the dice will enter into program mode. The lights will all turn white. Now once this happens you stop shaking the dice. You have now entered program mode so the dice will start to cycle through different colors. For 3 seconds it will be all blue, then 3 seconds all red, then 3 seconds all green etc etc. When the color selection you want comes up just shake the dice again. It will now be on that color. That's it, very easy!

You can do this as many times as you want or until you lose all the feeling in your arms ;)

But won't it go into program mode while playing games? No, because when you roll the dice it lands on a number and stops (even if it's just half a second) so the 30 second counter is reset.

We are currently writing the programming for this feature and getting a new circuit board made so we can show off this new feature you guys have helped us create. We will post a video before the campaign ends.

NEW COLOR

This stretch goal will require voting on a new color, we will send out a one question survey with a list of new colors. Vote on the one you want. The most voted color will be included as a finish for LUMA DICE!

Doublesix Dice: Roll Better: This 12-sided die is numbered 1-6 twice. It is rounder, and balanced. It's the iconic d6 evolved -> d(2x6). Doublesix Dice can also be the perfect gateway accessory: Swap in your Doublesixes for the stale dice in your non-gamer friends' games (like Monopoly and Backgammon). Back them here!

UGEARS - Self moving mechanical models: These things refresh your memories about real-life mechanics. Ugears mechanical assembly models allow you to feel every cog, experience the work of energy that is not coming from an electrical cord. Back them here!

MICATON MAGNETIC SCREW HOLDER: a new screw holder device that combines a very powerful neodymium magnet and a rubber body, which combined gives MICATON some quality points never seen so far in other products. Back them here!

A feature request for a D20: If it rolls and lands on a 20, it blinks and changes colors rapidly :)

Who said you have to shake the dice by hand? Use a dice cub.
If we ask nicely, maybe he will be another stretch goal. A carved pice of foam with square holes inside, he can be also a nice transportation option.
In my experience of tabletop, board and Pen & Paper gaming, most dice rolls take only a few seconds. Shaking included.

Glad to hear it on the D20. I think that the D20 would do really well in a separate campaign if need be. It would be pretty awesome to an LED lit power roll, especially if you had some pulsing mode blinks the LEDs while it is being rolled and then stays solid when the dice stops moving.

Hi guys and girls, we hear you and will do our best to reduce the 30 seconds. Maybe 15-20 seconds? Once we test the feature we can be sure what is enough time.

The feedback is great and helps us improve LUMA DICE, so thanks for voicing your concerns or suggestions.

@Peter Threw - The D20 will cost more then D6 mainly because it is has more numbers and requires a slightly more complex design. We also have some other cool ideas/features for it but might take a little time to prepare.
So we are possibly thinking of making it a separate Kickstarter campaign. However anyone who backs this campaign will get it the D20 at the early bird pricing when it goes live. Just an idea!

I'll also echo all the 30 second concerns. Try it sometime and I will guarantee you'll change your mind. 10 seconds, to me, seems reasonable since it will stop any accidental trigger... I've shook a set of dice in my hand or cup easily for 5 seconds while distracted or offering some sort of prayer up to the dice gods. Ten seconds gives enough buffer.

Will the D20 dice cost the same as the D6 dice? If the goal isn't met, do you have plans to produce them commercially?

76 year old wrists (mine) just can not keep firmly shaking for 30 seconds. (age tremors do not count) Have a heart.

I agree with der_Racker, 30 seconds (half of a MINUTE) of shaking is WAY too long. 5 seconds would be more than enough time. Most normal die rolls take no more than a second, and rolling across a long table usually won't take more than 2 seconds. Other than that, I love the idea of being able to reprogram the pip colors.

Red dice, red dice, red dice... It's the one thing holding me back from going to 5-pair instead of 1.

I still would rather have only-light-on-the-top-surface as a feature.

Yeah, bummed to see I missed the DoubleSix dice campaign, but ordered 12 of them from their site anyways! They'll be great for Summoner Wars and a perfect stocking stuffer!

I backed double six dice, but that kickstarter was over loooong ago!

I think shaking 30 seconds is WAAAY to long! :(
