Our SEIL Bag is part of a revolution in "wearable IT". We want to bring the future of style and technology integration to the world!
The SEIL Bag is designed in order to illustrate traffic signals such as the cruise signal, stop signal and emergency signal directly on the backpack.
Since the SEIL bag debuted in public in 2010, we have been doing our best to bring this project to real production. Now we have streamlined manufacturing and finalized the mobile app, so it's time to go live and bring our revolutionary project exclusively to Kickstarter backers.
Usually, bicycle riders use a pouch or backpack to carry a wallet, a mobile phone, water bottles and more. Bicycle riders' backpacks are a must-have item for outdoor activities. On top of this, the SEIL bag gives bicycle riders a safety feature instead of using hand signals. The LED and flexible PCB applied SEIL bag is not only just a backpack, but also a safety device controlled by you.
The SEIL bag provides you with a simple controller that can transmit many basic signals on the LED display as well as custom messages for others who are driving or walking around you. Simply using the detachable wireless controller enables various signals such as directions and emergency indicators.

As you can see in the video, you can add custom signals through our mobile app. Currently it is working only with Android-based phones. We will update a user manual for the app when we reach the goal.
SEIL App has very simple interface so anyone can use it easily. You can make images, texts and simple animation that are then immediately transferred to the SEIL device to display.

At the risk of sounding like every other project on Kickstarter, we have put in a lot of hard work and effort to bring the SEIL bag to this level - and this is purely because we believe in it, one hundred percent. We firmly support the idea of developing a line of wearable IT, and this is the first step in that direction.
We are planning to deliver the SEIL bags in March 2014. As we said before, we have been working very hard to bring this project to production level and finally everything is ready. With support from you, we could reach full world-wide production. Once this project is funded, we will do our best to deliver this to you as soon as possible.
Please support us and help make the SEIL bag become a real product in the market. The SEIL bag will be the first real example of an interactive safety wearable device to protect you from possible hazards while you are riding a bicycle. We are planning to come out with different versions of SEIL bags and other "wearable IT" items after this Kickstarter project as well if this succeeds.

Risks and challenges
For the previous Kickstarter campaign, we were working with a factory in China, which required 1000 minimum quantity, had several steps in the manufacturing process, and a high unit price. Now, we have a supplier in Korea that has government funding for this project, with fewer production steps, lower unit cost, and no minimum quantity. Their manufacturing process of the flexible LED panel is simpler, cheaper, and will allow us to achieve our minimum budget of $80k for our funding goal.
Our patent of the SEIL bag is current in Korea and pending in the US, Europe, Japan and China. Both companies we are working with for LED module and bag manufacturing are prepared to finish production as soon as possible upon reaching the funding goal on Kickstarters.
