You might remember the Bell rocket belt, the James Bond movie Thunderball, and even flights from the Olympic Games and Super Bowls... featuring the the hydrogen peroxide version? Remember the excitement?? Here is your rare opportunity to become involved!
Just over 8 months ago, Jeff Seymour and Dieter Sturm made the commitment to actually design and build the next generation of personal flying belt utilizing micro jet turbines instead of the traditional hydrogen peroxide rocket engines.

It started 8 months ago when the Director Of Business for the Experimental Aircraft Association in Oshkosh (AirVenture / EAA) visited our crude shop in Neenah, Wisconsin. At the time, we were working on the Micro Monster miniature jet truck. He was astounded at the level of creativity, talent, and determination and gave us an open invitation to appear at the July 2012. We were excited and honored! Now, the AirVenture aviation event in Oshkosh became an important driver with a target goal. We took his invitation as a challenge and were focused to design, build, and display our Phase 1 model of the Jet Vest. Right up until the day before EAA, the vest was being worked on for it's first public appearance and even announcement. We wanted to prove that we could perform and deliver our project as we said we would.
We set up our booth on Sunday July 22nd in the Innovation Hanger South and manned our booth for the entire week of the event. We received excellent interest and made many new friends. The AIRVENTURE Newspaper wrote a full page article on us titled.. " Jet Vest Creators Go For the "WOW" Factor ". Please click on this link and check it out!
We also received a informal invite to fly the vest at next years EAA convention.
To date, Jeff and I have funded this entire project out of our own pockets. Jeff is retired and on a fixed income (drug him out of retirement) and I work my special effects projects and try to scrap off dollars to keep the project moving. Right now, we have 8 months of long hours of work, personal materials including the four jet turbine 100 lb thrust engines, and some good solid plans.
We have secured the Jet Vest trademark ownership, developing a dedicated website just for the Vest, assembled several key people on our Advisory Board who have specific experience and history in this kind of machine, and working to secure additional funding to keep the momentum going forward.
Our needs for raising $30,000 Phase 2 will include the following expenses:
*Completion of fuel system and purchase of fuel bladders
*Recast fiberglass backpack with carbon fiber composite *Completion of engine and flight control components
*Several meetings with Terry Straud to work on writing code for the throttle controllers /ECUs are already in progress
*Acquire custom made harness and for flight suit
*Ballistic chute system design
*Cover some heating bill costs for the shop this winter
*Building of Test Stand and Related Components for testing
*Acquire Components for Mobile Tether Test and Fly System

Are you selling them in the future? No The function of the Jet Vest will be used for flying in large scale special events (ie: Super Bowl, Olympic Ceremonies, etc.) and fully backed by a Corporate sponsor once built, flown, and proven.

Risks and challenges
As funding is received, we are already in the process of physically building the final micro jet turbine engines. Again, we already have these expensive engine parts, so the funding from you will go to the agenda list that is described in this Phase 2 project that we have been struggling to fund.
Our challenge and GOAL is to have a flying (at least tethered) vest by the next EAA show in Oshkosh late July 2013. As we are well disciplined, we will meet the deadline if we have the funding to support our work.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
