We are reaching out to you today to share our upcoming project, NEVER BUILT NEW YORK. We know how much you loved Never Built Los Angeles (we still appreciate your support!) and knew that this would be just your thing!
This multi-faceted exhibition, opening in the fall at the Queens Museum, offers an inside look at architectural and urban plans for New York City that never made it past the drafting table! The show will exhibit incredible models, designs, and sketches conceived by masters including I.M. Pei, Frank Lloyd Wright, and Philip Johnson --and we will install almost 100 miniature models of these never built structures on the Queens Museum’s beloved Panorama! The Panorama of the City of New York was commissioned for the ‘64 World’s Fair, and continues to be draw tens of thousands of visitors every year.
On MONDAY the Queens Museum will launch a campaign to bring together architecture buffs, lovers of New York City, and dreamers like us to make it all happen! Not only will your support bring this fun project to fruition, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy some fantastic rewards, including a beautiful reproduction print of an architectural drawing of the Perisphere built for the '39 New York World's Fair, 3D printed miniature models of never built structures made especially for this exhibition, a dinner with master architect Daniel Libeskind, and even a one-of-a-kind, inflatable reproduction of Eliot Noyes’ (1910-1977) design of the Westinghouse Pavilion at the 1964 New York World's Fair that was never built.
With your help, we are going to bring Never Built New York to life, at the Queens Museum. Will you join us?
Check back on Monday for the link to the live Kickstarter page!
