Originally, the psalms were written as poetry and songs. This project recaptures a taste and feel of the ancient poetry of worship: simple, hopeful, applicable to life today.
The expressions of faith and confidence in God are there, expressed in modern terms--not lofty, but earthy and accessible. These are not translations but adaptations, interpretations of the poetry of David and his contemporaries.
Every psalm has been rewritten into lyric, meter, rhyme. Below are a few excerpts:
from Psalm 23.......
The Lord's my loving Shepherd; He always will provide
Rest from striving, quiet release,
Strength in spirit, guiding peace.
from Psalm 139
The moment when the sperm and egg Were joined by intimate hearts,
Invisibly, skillfully, You designed And chose my intricate parts.
You wrote the code for my DNA With traits from dad and mum;
And then with laughter in Your eyes, You added traits just for surprise--
The print of my Master’s thumb!
In earliest stage, my course was mapped And coded by Your hand,
Your purpose written in my heart, My life designed and planned.
Now we have reached the goal and you may ask, why continue to pledge? Getting a book published is only the beginning. The next big step is to get the book in the hands of readers. A stretch goal of say $3000 would enable me to order extra books, send some to distributors and others who might spread the news.
O, and you still get the rewards at the level that you choose.
It is my heart-felt desire that each person who picks up this book will be encouraged in his/her desire to know the God of the Psalms, the Eternal-Strong.
Thank you for considering this project. And please pass on the link above to your friends.

Risks and challenges
This is my first attempt to publish a book. The potential publisher has promised that he can get my book to print and in my hands by March. I have the manuscript ready to deliver into his hands.
Any delays should be minimal as far as I can see.
If the Lord is willing, I will have a book in your hand by Easter, 2013.
