How much loot can you survive the dungeon with? Will you survive at all? Play cooperatively, semi-competitively or solo and find out.
Risks and challenges
All game productions carry some level of risk and challenge - this one is no exception. The game has been designed fully and tested, leaving only small tweaks here and there. So that's at least two things we can check off the risk list, leaving illustrations, production and shipping/fulfillment.
I do not anticipate shipping/fulfillment will be an issue given the timing even with the Christmas season hitting in the US; unless the US Postal Service goes under before this winter I would anticipate this is the lowest of the three risk areas remaining - this is what they do. And if shipping does become an issue we'll just shift over to UPS or FedEx or carrier pigeon (OK, maybe not that last one). Shipping out a couple thousand copies of the game (hopefully!) is not a small task, but I've got a team of five lined up and we've intentionally kept the number of options limited to minimize the complexity and risk of issues.
For production I'm working with a solid, well-established company - a company that has done a number of other projects funded by Kickstarter. I've built a little extra time into the estimated arrival date to account for potential delays. I also have a backup provider in the event something goes horribly wrong.
My illustrators are freelancers who do excellent work. But because everything is dependent on their completion this is probably the largest risk area for the project. However, to date they've done a tremendous job and I have no reason to believe that would stop. But if it does for some reason, I have other illustrators who can jump in, keeping delays to a minimum.
In theory there are other potential risks - the zombie apocalypse could occur before 2019, the rebel alliance could detonate a nuclear device in the atmosphere or the time-space continuum could rip and Taylor Swift could become country again.
