Yes! Having previously launched a crowdfunding campaign and shipping worldwide already, we’re more than happy to get our product on the hands of even more people.
Customs fees and taxes vary depending on the country you are in so we would recommend checking with your customs office before you become a backer. The full amount of your pledge will be reflected on the invoice in your package. We won’t be able to provide a refund if you reject the shipment due to customs fees.
If you are in the US or the EU there are no import tax. In other countries duty tax varies. You can check what tax on Plobot will be via this this link: http://www.dutycalculator.com/hs-lookup/946876/hs-tariff-code-for-drone/. Please remember that on top of the tax there will also be a small admin fee that the shipper will add for handling the tax. We will work very closely with our shippers to ensure the process will be minimal.
Plobot works by swiping command cards in sequence to initiate actions for the robot. Programming works in a similar way, arranging blocks of instructions in sequence to reach a goal. Instead of being focused on the syntax and mechanics of coding, we aim to teach the principles of programming, and instill the value of computational thinking as early as possible for young learners.
We designed Plobot to be the first encounter for coding, so the cards all come with preset functions. Having said that, we are exploring the option to add a Wi-FI chip that enables over-the-air updates to the robot's firmware which will let hackers play around with other functions.
