Dedicated, the new album from jazz trio organissimo, is devoted to all of our wonderful fans, the many musicians who have inspired us over the years, and our continued love of music. We know you'll enjoy this new collection of original tunes as much as we do. It's fun, funky, groovin' jazz with soul!
But let's face it: It costs money to bring this niche music to you, our loyal fans. And you've always helped us out. We've done crowd sourcing in the past but only via our own website. We've decided to use Kickstarter this time so we can reach a larger audience and make participating easier than ever for you.
Dedicated was recorded over the course of the last 18 months between organist Jim Alfredson's hectic tour schedule. Jim is also the keyboardist for blues singer extraordinaire Janiva Magness and since 2010 he has toured with her constantly. Making this album was logistically a challenge, but we think the results are well worth the wait.

Besides being our fifth CD, this is the first recording with our new guitarist, Ralph Tope. Ralph is a dynamic and exciting player who has quickly risen to the top of the Detroit jazz scene. He's melodic and soulful and we're proud to have him in organissimo.
So let's get to the nitty gritty: Why do we need your help? Thankfully the cost of producing a CD have come way down in the last 10 years. But what hasn't come down is the cost of doing it professionally and also the cost of promotion, both radio and print. So here's the breakdown of our $12,000 goal:
$3,000 - mixing and mastering at Glenn Brown Productions, our favorite local studio and the place where our previous CDs were either tracked, or mixed and mastered, or both. If Glenn touches it, it's gonna sound GOOD!
$500 - Professional artwork for the CD & liner notes
$1500 - Duplication / printing
$5000 (or more) - Print and radio promotion. It doesn't matter how good the music is, you simply must have well-respected promoters behind you. That's because there are so many CDs released each year, radio stations and reviewers are absolutely inundated with product. You must have someone the press respects badgering them about YOU or else you'll just get lost in the shuffle.
That just leaves a $2000 buffer for unforeseen circumstances. As you can see, it adds up fast! That's where you come in. Spread the word! Show your support! This music cannot be made without YOU!
Thank you for your time. Stay tuned for more video updates and audio examples in the coming weeks.
