Beards of Legend Facebook page was created by Jordan Wheeler around March of 2016. This is also the month his son was born and to discover his son had been born with Congenital Hyperinsulinism (HI). Learning his son had Congenital Hyperinsulinism (HI) Jordan and his wife had a difficult time. Local hospitals in Ohio did not have the resources to treat this condition, also knew very little about the condition altogether. Congenital hyperinsulinism (HI) is a genetic disorder in which the insulin cells of the pancreas, called beta cells, secrete too much insulin. CHOP is the world leaders of this condition, also one of the few places that treats such condition. In April 2016 they removed 40% of his son's pancreas, After 2 months in the hospital Jordan's son is now home and is a healthy growing boy!
Spending time in the hospital Jordan passed the time by posting funny pictures on Beards of Legend Facebook page, with the help with Co-founders Nathan Snoke and Brad Walker. The page quickly grew into a wild success with the help of The Whimsical Woodsman and His Photographer. In May of 2016 we created a meme of the The Whimsical Woodsman
After about a year of Brand building and email after email about getting our own Beard Care products. We believe we are ready to develop our own products. We are going to start with Beard Oils and slowly develop more products from Balms,Soaps,Conditioners,Shampoos etc. This Kickstarter will allow us to create the foundation to this start up. We have 3 scents in mind and want to create our signature style to them. A Lot of other beard care product businesses come out with a wide variety of scents. We want to focus on a small but powerful product line up, letting potential customers find what they are looking for easily without being overwhelmed by the amount of scents that we could do! This will also allow us to scale to a larger size faster than most businesses. We can keep high inventory of 3 scents rather than 10 scents.

Risks and challenges
The risks and challenges we took head on prior to coming to Kickstarter. We've built a social media "Brand" with over 35,000 likes on our Facebook page along with over 1,000 in a highly active closed group, 4500+ on Instagram and growing on many other platforms.
We know the main issue will be scale ability to the already HIGHLY competitive market. We believe our social media skills will allow us to make these products stand out in this market.
