"Hell, Nebraska" is a six-issue, digital-first comic book series on Comixology and iVerse Comics+ by Shaun Manning and Anna Wieszczyk about a man who discovers that Hell does not exist--and decides to do something about it. Thanks to the power of a mysterious mask, an unassuming high school teacher is able to raise a city of the damned in rural Nebraska... but one of his students could topple his grand design.
Each 11-page issue to date has a four-star rating on Comixology--people seem to dig what Anna and I are doing. Still on the fence? First taste is free. The others will cost you $.99 (or you can grab a package deal right here). Art is coming in for issue #5, and the big finale in #6 will be double-sized and sell for $1.99--about the same as a month-old comic from the major publishers.
Now that we're in the home stretch, I'm looking for funding to create a small print run and cover some of the final art costs. The intention is to debut the "Hell, Nebraska" trade paperback at the brand-new Cincy ComiCon in September, along with a con-exclusive variant (and sole print edition) of the first two issues.
Risks and challenges
Anna and I have worked and are working together on several projects, though this is the first to reach the public eye. I do not foresee any collaborative hurdles.
There is potential for delay, however, due to other professional commitments. Most of the delays up til now have been on my head, though, and with the script 100% finished and ready and artwork already in progress, I am confident we can hit a September launch.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
