It Will Be Cold: A Poetry Collection
It Will Be Cold is a forthcoming poetry collection by aspiring North Carolina poet Jeffrey Jordan, published by Warren Publishing
I write poetry about mental illness, love, loss, and other fun topics! As a person with Schizoaffective Bipolar disorder, I use poetry-writing as therapy. I can only hope that my work is therapeutic to others.
Mental health has this stigma to it and I want to break that. I submitted my manuscript to Warren Publishing in Charlotte, NC, won a publishing contract, and in order to use their services, I need to raise some funds. I am contributing some money out-of-pocket, but I need to raise at least $2500 to meet my goal and get my work out there.
Ultimately, my goal is not to make money here. I want to help those in need of mental health support and to support mental health education. For this reason, I will be donating (once published) part of my royalties to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
I have until August 15 to raise the money for this project. If you decide to be a backer, for $15 you'll receive a copy! For the modest amount of $25, I'll autograph a copy and send it to you ANYWHERE in the world. Thanks for reading and please consider helping me #endthestigma
Risks and challenges
If I manage to raise the money for publication, publication will take place in Late Winter 2018 and I will have books in hand then to ship out. This is a part of my contract but I do not have a very specific date from the publisher, although I expect it will be February.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
