Hello! Welcome to The Creak’s Kickstarter. We’re an acoustic band from San Francisco in the process of recording a new album called Here, Hold This. It’s a collection of around 14 original tunes sure to keep you singing along with strong melodies, great lyrics, and awesome instrumentation. This album will not be one to miss!
We have been super busy since the release of our last full-length, 2011’s Here’s To Feeling Good All The Time. Besides writing and refining a whole new batch of songs, we’ve been playing shows at venues like San Francisco’s Great American Music Hall and Café du Nord, supporting friends like The Brothers Comatose and Matt Lax, honing our chops, and busking our butts off on street-corners all around the Bay Area. After a year-plus of hard work, we’re finally ready to get back in the studio with our dear friend and producer, Margrit Eichler of Absolutely True Sound, to bring you fine folks another slab of our patented genre-defying bluegrass mayhem. Here, Hold This will be a true testament to the musical growth we have experienced over the past year and a half, both as individuals and as a band.
Making an album is expensive. From recording to mixing to custom artwork by Gia Nguyen Hoang to mastering and finally pressing and promotion, it adds up, especially for independent artists like us. We have some money saved from previous gigs and playing on the streets of SF, but it is not enough to cover all costs associated with creating this new album. That’s why we’re asking for you to donate your hard-earned cash to the cause. Any amount from $5 on up to meet our goal of $5,000 is appreciated. We are very grateful for your support, and in return you will receive great rewards like:
Cover songs of your choice, posted to YouTube!
Once again, thanks for checking out our Kickstarter, and thanks so much for your help and support. Please forward our page to anyone you know that might be interested in supporting independent music. It’s going to help us make a fantastic album for all of you, and it means the world to us!
