 Hi Everybody,

It's been a while since we started shipping out rewards so we thought we'd share progress with you and also let you in on plans for the Xbox One console now that the release is a couple of days away. Here's where we're at with respect to the 360 Slim console rewards:

We're shipping out one kit/unit every day now and should be done with all 360 Slim rewards by end of November.

Xbox ONE Rewards

We've already pre-ordered Xbox ONE units and should have them in our hands by next week. As soon as we do we'll start modifying the Darkmatter laptop design to adapt innards of the new console. We're also currently working on the design for the new 360 Slim (360 E) laptop. Our estimate is this design update process (for both the 360E and Xbox One) would take about 1-2 months after which the following reward levels will start to roll out:

Manual Updates

We really appreciate the feedback you guys have been sending in on the e-book content. Keep it coming! This will allow us to weed out any mistakes and gradually turn this into the most comprehensive guide out there on building Xbox laptops. The e-book will soon be ported to this publicly editable wiki which backers would be able to modify and improve on.

Please share pictures/details of your Darkmatter builds here on the community forum. If you're having any trouble with assembly please feel free to PM us or post on the forum, we would be glad to help out.

Next Up: Source/Design Files Release!

I'm also curious as to how small they can make it. The Xb1 is HEAVY and large due to all the airflow. That is gonna be one beast of a laptop.

I don't understand the desire for xbox one laptops. A primary function of the laptop is the way it works with the kinect 2.0. All that ability is lost in laptop form unless you plug a kinect 2.0 into your laptop... which kills the portability factor.

A second major function is the tv ability, which requires the hdmi pass through from your cable box... yet another feature that doesn't fit a portable format.

Plus games have to download patches upwards of 6gigabytes (thats what I was greeted with when i fired up Forza 5 for the first time), which would simply suck over wireless.

So it boils down to loosing all the extra functionality and just having a game player... which is something I suppose... but it is really more of a novelty at this point than useful.
