Transforming Praise, is the debut album of singer/songwriter Sherri Hicks, a Miami native and seasoned gospel performer. Sherri has been singing in church since she was 5 years old. Her single, “Changed,” has been released and is available on Itunes Worldwide. The upcoming album boasts a myriad of influences ranging from retro Southern Gospel to Neo-Soul, jazz and country. DREAM - A couple of months ago I had an opportunity to sing back up for Shirley Murdock. One of the songs she did had such an incredible IMPACT on me. The words said "God gave me a DREAM that would not die". This post is for every person w...ith a dream. Never let your dreams die because you can't see how they will come into fruition. HOLD ON TO YOUR DREAMS. Be blessed!
Jesus Rocks!! Preparing for a long night for recording lead vocals. As I prayed this morning God said its the "Yes" that moves Him. It symbolizes the obedience we are willing to walk in so He gets the... glory. 2 years ago I was asked to record an album. I said no. I like the background, as its much easier. I made every excuse as to why it was not for me. I've written songs for stage plays, spoken word artists, and praise and worship. Song writing is who I am. But when I said "yes, God, I'll do what you want me to do". He began flinging doors open. I told God, I know its ministry, its the way He chose for me, its not the easy way, but its His way, and I'm good with that. Thank you guys for taking this Journey of Faith with me and helping me finish God's work of Art. Blessings!!!!
GOD IS A PROMISE KEEPER -
Great Studio Session last night. Can't get the last track "Promise Keeper" out of my head. God is in fact a promise keeper and the song always brings me back to the scriptures of God's promises and His faithfulne...ss to me in performing everyone of them. When it looked like it wouldn't work, we found a promise, declared it, stood on it, and watched Him fulfill it. Be encouraged. I am.
Long night in the studio recording leads til 2am. Operating on 4 hours of sleep * _*. But I woke to 2 more backers for the project even all the way from Kuwait. There is something about the FAITHFULNESS of God that brings me to tears. He's ...able, he's faithful, and I'm thankful. To my new support, thank you sooooo much all. We are on our way by FAITH.
