About this project
Can you understand my words? Does this resemble your communication method?"...
"We need your help."
The short film "Meet Your Maker" needs funding. It's a film about science, but told with one foot planted firmly in the realm of the fantastic. It's a story about discovery and inadvertent creation. It's a story about responsibility. The main players are a scientist, an experiment and a universe - a universe whose tortured life and death occupied only a fraction of a second, and whose bewildered occupants come calling from the void to meet their maker.
To maintain a classic science fiction aesthetic, we aim to shoot on black and white 16mm film. Your generous contributions will help us achieve the feel of retro fantasy TV like "The Twilight Zone" and "The Outer Limits" by providing funds for film, processing and set construction.

Risks and challenges
Funding, obviously, happens to be our major obstacle, but building the scientist's laboratory is set to be quite an ambitious undertaking. Working from our two-man team and reaching out to those more experienced in construction, we are faced with the arduous task of building computers, microscopes, and hadron colliders from scratch, and I'm sure this process will come with its fair share of headaches. However, we are fortuitous enough to have a shooting space that allows us a seemingly indefinite window in which to complete construction and shoot, which will give us ample time to overcome any set-building issues that should arise.
Securing the right actors could also be a difficult task, as a poorly cast film could spell disaster for an otherwise potentially successful project. luckily, we've got a network of stage actors, local casting agencies, and the creative community of Pittsburgh at our disposal, we're sure that we'll be able to find actors that are right for each role.
Dealing with these issues as well as any other problems typically associated with production will be challenging, yes, but we feel confident in our abilities as film-makers to deliver a quality, entertaining film given adequate resources.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
