Jacob looked up. He heard the rumble overhead and knew that he would only have minutes to find shelter before the black rain fell and burned any flesh or clothing that came in contact with it. This was another consequence of the war.
Cautiously and quietly, Jacob drew his ASP pistol and approached. He strained to hear anything out of the ordinary, but everything was deathly quiet. He knew that an old High School like this would be the perfect home for a band of marauders or one of the mutated creatures that now roamed the earth, but he didn't have any choice.
Jacob reached the front door of the abandoned school and yanked on the handle, but the door wouldn't budge. Closing his eyes, he concentrated and then spoke a word of power in a low whisper. The magical energy coalesced around him and his muscles began to pulsate. Once again, he pulled on the doors, but this time they opened easily despite the groaning protest of the rusted hinges.
As soon as he stepped past the threshold, he heard several deep, throaty growls echo in the empty hallway.
Where do you go from here? To the map of course! Whether the gateway to Hell opens up under the gym floor, you are a teen with superpowers who is sent to a special school or the end of the world is here, you need a great floor plan of a High School.
This Kickstarter is for a .PDF of a Two-Story High School floor plan for use in roleplaying games and is not system specific.
The school itself is designed to serve the needs of 1000 students and we will map out the entire foot print of the school and detail the following if we reach our campaign goal:
4 Classrooms (2 standard and 2 lab classroom)
School office-including Assistant Principal and Principal
We will also include a sheet of icons that will allow the GM to flesh out non-detailed spaces to his or her own specifications.
NEW-Exclusive Backer Reward
Anyone that backs this Kickstarter at $10 or more will also receive a School Bus map. This map will only be available to Kickstarter Backers and will never be available outside of this campaign. The map will be a "C Type" bus for at least 50 students. The interior seats will be on a separate layer, so you can hide these. In addition, the map will contain all of the normal layers including hex and grid layers.
About Our Maps
This map will have all of the features that you have come to know and love from all Fabled Environments products:
-Want to draw it out yourself? Use the 8.5" x 11" map as a guide.
-Want to simply drop the map on the table and play? Use the 36" x 48" full scale map sections (if you have access to a plotter printer) or print the tiled version on regular paper and assemble it yourself in a matter of minutes. Both versions are scaled at 1" equals 5'.
-In addition, multiple layers, such as labels and furniture, can be turned on or off using the layers feature.
-This flooplan will also take advantage of the "tile large page" function of Adobe Acrobat X.
All of our floorplans are rendered in black and white and are created by a professional architectural drafter/interior designer using AutoCAD. This gives all of our maps the realistic feel that your players crave.

$ 3500-New Bowling Alley map from Fabled Environments. This map will include all of the features that you would expect in your local bowling center.
$ 3900- Character Descriptions of some of the teens and adults in the High School-by none other than Clint Black of Pinnacle Entertainment Group. The descriptions will mirror characters from the figure flats.
$ 4600-Two Additional Art Pieces by Ian Llanas.(for personal use only). Along with the piece provided with the backer rewards, these pieces are great for setting the mood, fleshing out the exterior of a GM screen or serving as the wall paper for your desktop.
$ 5100-Separate Auditorium will be created for the High School

Risks and challenges
Fabled Environments has been offering modern floor plans to gamers for nearly 10 years. During that time we have been nominated for multiple Ennie awards and have worked with several different game companies to provide maps for their products. We have both the expertise and experience to tackle this project.
Challenges could potentially be both internal and external. We are working with several artists and authors to produce stretch goals for the campaign. Since these are outside entities, Fabled Environments will have less control over issues such as meeting deadlines. However, we have worked with each and every one of the artists/authors involved in this project and they are all exemplary as it pertains to both meeting deadlines and the quality of their work.
Internally, this is a huge project for us. We learned quite a bit from our last Kickstarter, which was for a project of the same magnitude. We have a proven track record for hitting deadlines and we feel confident that we can hit the targets that we have set for ourselves. Unforeseen circumstances could always derail us from our deadlines, but we will remain in constant contact with the backers and overcome these obstacles as they surface.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
