About this project
Welcome! “Star Trek Anthology” is a vignette/anthology series of TOS Trek-related stories. Where Star Trek was Gene Roddenberry’s “Wagon Train to the Stars,” Star Trek Anthology is more of an “Express Train to the Twilight Zone.” The plan is to explore strange, weird and perhaps even uncomfortable subject matter.
Think Trek + Twilight Zone + a pinch of Galaxy Quest = Anthology. Let’s have some fun making Trek! It is truly wonderful that fans’ fascination with Star Trek continues after fifty years, and we’re glad to be developing new stories for the timeline that follows the Original Series.
I’d like to take a few minutes to tell you a little bit about what we think is a unique and exciting take on the world of Trek. You may remember in the 1970’s, NBC had an interesting anthology series called the NBC Sunday Mystery Movie. Each week, it would feature a different detective story. There was “Macmillan and Wife” starring Rock Hudson and Susan Saint James, “Heck Ramsey” starring Richard Boone, “McCloud” starring Dennis Weaver, and who can forget “Columbo” starring Peter Falk.
The concept for “Star Trek Anthology” will be very much the same. Each segment of the series will take place primarily in the original Trek series period. Our premier episode will feature our tent-pole production, “Starship Challenger,” the story of Captain JM Colt and the crew of the Challenger, a Miranda-Class Starship, as they explore the outer rim of the galaxy…
…but that is where Trek canon ends. Where Gene Roddenberry’s Star Trek was a “Wagon Train to the Stars,” Starship Challenger is more of an “Express Train to the Twilight Zone.” Throw in a pinch of “Galaxy Quest” and “Outer Limits,” and well, you kind of get the idea.
The pilot is written and ready to shoot, as well as a second episode…and a very funny and moving vignette. Challenger may be a common thread that runs through our other planned series, such as “Assignment: Earth” and “Mother”; a story of a family-run freighter, in a vein similar to Firefly.
A big part of our mission is to expand autism awareness. Each individual with autism is unique. Many of those on the autism spectrum have exceptional abilities in visual skills, music and academic skills. About 40 percent have average to above average intellectual abilities. Indeed, many persons on the spectrum take deserved pride in their distinctive abilities and “atypical” ways of viewing the world. Others with autism have significant disability and are unable to live independently. As part of our outward mission directed at the real world at “Star Trek Anthology,” we strongly support Gene Roddenberry’s dream, that the Universe should be accessible to all people, regardless of nationality, creed, lifestyle choice or disability. We encourage our fans to support Autism research and awareness efforts in your community. Star Trek fan films are based on copyrighted content owned by Paramount Pictures, CBS and their licensees. Although neither Paramount nor CBS has expressed an official statement, fan films have assumed permission under the "fair use" doctrine of the U.S. Copyright Law, with the caveat that the rights holders be properly credited, and that no revenue is generated from the sale of such films.
As Star Trek Anthology will not be generating revenue from our work, production costs are supported by fans like you. Your generous donation goes directly to operating expenses (utilities, equipment, supplies, materials, maintenance, wardrobe, make-up, properties).
Cast and crew positions are all volunteer. We expect no remuneration for what we do, except for the wonderful feeling we get when these films are finished. for us, this is a labor of love and a way of giving back for the many years of hopefulness and wonder that Star Trek has left inside of us.
We also understand that we may get lucky and receive more than we've asked for. In that event, (we like to be forward-thinking and "Glass is half full") We've considered the following "STRETCH GOALS".
1ST STRETCH: $8500.00 - Would allow us the funds we need to build a basic (small, cramped) bridge set for our installment of "MOTHER".
2ND STRETCH: $10,000.00 - Would allow us the funds we need to build a basic bridge set for our installment of "MOTHER", a few corridor sets and part of Gary Seven's office for "ASSIGNMENT: EARTH"
3RD STRETCH: 15,000.00 - Would allow us the funds we need to build a very nice bridge set (but still small and cramped) and a few corridor sets for our installment of "MOTHER", and ALL of Gary Seven's office for "ASSIGNMENT: EARTH"

Risks and challenges
Several of us have owned and run theater groups and actually made money doing it! Many of us have worked with other successful TREK fan films. All of us are or have been professionals in the film or entertainment industry. Our team is very skilled at what they do, and we always have a "plan B" waiting in the wings. What we have most is a passion to deliver a quality show with wonderful characters and exciting, thought-provoking stories. Our goal is to get "back to the basics" of what Gene Roddenberry had intended....strong characters in interesting moral dilemmas.
Our BIGGEST need right now is costumes and makeup.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
