About
Joan of Arc was a 16 year old illiterate peasant girl when set out to persuade those in charge she was meant to lead the armies of France to victory over an English horde that had all but occupied the entirety of her country. In the medieval European world, the idea of her so much as conversing with the people she did was impossible, let alone convincing them. But convince them she did and her feats to this day are considered nothing short of miraculous. She lifted a siege, crowned a king, was captured, betrayed, and executed all before her 20th birthday.

A Flower in a Field of Lions tells the story of Joan of Arc from her perspective as she testifies at her own trial. Illustrated by Ryan Cody (Doc Unknown), this ~124 page graphic novel depicts Joan as she leaves her family to navigate the brutal clash of arms, finicky politics, and weaponized religion inherent in medieval Europe all the while carrying the literal and metaphorical banner of God's favor.

You've heard her story, but you've never seen it like this.

Risks and challenges
Publishing a book is definitely difficult, however it's something that I have accomplished successfully twice before. Existing hurdles is art completion, formatting for press, printing, and delivery. Many of these channels are currently in place so the only missing piece is funding.
Approximately 1/4 of the book is already illustrated so we're off the ground and running.
