Hey @Lethal Chicken Games, @Henry So, and @Dane Nilsson. Thank you all for your support! While I'm still working out whether or not I can do a small print run of this game, I can say something for sure: more games are coming!
This is so sad. I really wanted this game. =(
That makes me a little sad, but you've got to do what you've got to do. Good luck, whatever you decide to do.
Hey Brandon! Sorry to hear you're canceling. Kickstarter is TOUGH!! Congrats on getting as far as you did. The game looks really fun and I'll keep following its progress as well as your great blog articles. Keep your chin up!!
Hey Andrew, me too, but all is not lost! I've learned a lot, I've had a blast, and I'm still investigating the price of doing a small print-on-demand run. I am thrilled with all the support, you - as well as so many others here - have been incredibly kind and supportive :)
Hi Henry! Though I've canceled the campaign due to the low likelihood of funding, I want you to know that I saw that you backed this morning and I appreciate it :)
Bummed out, this looked like a cool game.
This game is unfortunately not very eye-catching, but once I looked further, it looks pretty great. It brings back fond memories of long past road trips my family would take. I hope this funds!
I really like what you have it together, Brandon. Am promoting this on my instagram @roguetroutgames - good luck!
Hi, Dr. Ross! Thank you for your support and interest in Highways & Byways.
The game is not easily soloable by playing two hands. The early part of the game, where you choose your route by picking Byway cards, would translate pretty well to a solo version. However, much of the strategy in the driving stage of the game depends on the interactions between players. I've experimented with a few different solo versions of the game, but ultimately opted to leave it as a 2-4 player game.
All that said, though, I encourage suggestions. If you have a good idea for solo play, let me know!
Hey! This game looks great, but is there any chance for a solo variant? A ton of us on the solo guild are interested but only play games by ourselves - some games can be soloable by playing two hands, but this game may not be easily done that way. Any thoughts? Thank you and good luck!
Hi, Julien! That's good feedback. In fact, I'd actually had city names on the board in a prior version of the game, but removed them to de-clutter the board after play-testing feedback.
Could you consider adding the city names on the map. It could also be used to learn about the locations in the USA.
Thanks for the support, Weird Giraffe Games. That's the spirit!
We're almost to 100 backers! I'm sure we could get there if everyone shared the campaign with a friend!
And thank you for the congratulations as well!
Hi Jamie, I think next time I update the campaign (this week), it would be a good time to see if others are interested in a $10 reward, using your ideas as a place to start. If I see an appetite for it in a larger audience, I might add one!
Congrats on crossing over the 25% milestone in just a few days
@Bradon Rollins, RE: $10 tier digital rewards ideas:
I would love to see something as it may help you boost support towards your goal.
Here are a few ideas, and perhaps others could contribute ideas here on the comments or via a survey:
A. A special desktop wallpaper that only 10 dollar backers get (unlimited capacity for the backer tier).
B. A special mobile wallpaper.
I know you made some wallpapers available to the public for free, but perhaps a different wallpaper could work as a rewarded backer tier item.
I am open to any ideas you have as the creator.
I hope this can help garner more support for you and the game.
Looks good Brandon! Hope it does well!
Hi Jamie, I'm glad to have your support at any level! I am open to adding a $10 pledge with a different reward if there's interest and if it's feasible.
Do you have any specific ideas in mind for digital rewards?
I want the game, but cannot pledge full price at this time. I will have to buy it later. However, for now, I would be interested in some kind of rewarded tier placed between the $1 and$49 tiers. For example, is there a reward tier you could offer at 10 dollars, that includes a thank you, and something else (e.g. maybe something digital)?
@Weird Giraffe Games - thank you and I wish you continued success on Fire in the Library!
@Ian Allen - thank you! I'm very glad to have your support!
Looks like a fun game! Great to see it finally out on KS!
Congrats on getting this far! Hopefully the campaign funds this week! It looks fantastic!
