New Limited Reward - Original Art & Prints by the Misanthrope Specialty Co.
Wow, I opened by email box to the most amazing surprise yesterday. True to their word, the men and women of the Misanthrope Specialty Company did produce a special surprise for me at their Sunday meeting. Here is the note that came attached with the above image:
"Dear Sir or Madam, It has come to the Company's attention that the death of your automobile has prompted you to initiate a Kickstarter campaign, hoping to raise funds for a suitable replacement. Be aware that the Company is sympathetic to your cause. Attached you will find a photo of a recent collaboration by the men and women of the Company. Inspired by recent event in your life, it is entitled "Rust In Pieces, Boris Carloff." It is an 8.5 x 11" guache and ink illustration on card stock. If you wish, this original piece can be offered to the buying public via your Kickstarter page for a sponsorship donation of $89.99. Please let us know if there's anything else the Company can do for you. Sincerely, the Men and women of the Misanthrope Specialty Co."
The Misanthropes have always had a fondness for Boris as many of the Company's membership have either borrowed him for their own touring or accompanied me on legs of the sweetie pie press tours.
After major thanks and thoughtful negotiations with the Misanthropes, I have convinced them to accompany the sale of this original piece with a small run of limited edition prints. I just felt it was too awesome not to share. Numerology must be very important to them as they not only specified the very unround price of the original but also agreed to make prints only if they were done in a signed and numbered run of 24 at $24 a piece. They pointed out that Boris Carloff was 24 when he passed away.
The absolute specifics of the prints are still be ironed out, but we do know that they will be rad. The Misanthropes and I are looking into giclee printing options and will settle for nothing less than a hefty rag cotton stock. These will be both prints and objects when they are done. Prints will either be 8"x10" or 8.5"x11" with a small border for signing, numbering and framing.
How amazing is that?
