quilt tour develops....

Things are on a roll with Quilt Stories Tour coming up soon.....
I am planning my route with the help of all of the amazing people that have been contacting me with location requests and venue suggestions- the list of cities I am visiting is expanding as I am narrowing in on where I will go. The new tent is underway in my studio, as you can see in the video below- I have been having a block-piecing party and am stacking flying geese.
This new Quilt Stories tent will be inaugurated here in Boise during the First Thursday (June 2nd) art crawl, at Bricolage, alongside a fellow Kickstarter-funded tour- Moveable Type. Then, June 11th, I am on the road!
As you can see from my map, the trip has spread out further than my initial plans. I will be hosted at a week-long residency in Palouse, WA, where I will be preparing for the long haul. I will also take a little jaunt over to Seattle for a day or two. After making my way across the country to a two-week residency in Minneapolis, I wont stop there. I will be on my way to my family home in Michigan, making it in time for the East Lansing Great Lakes Folk Festival. Of course that means I have to stop in Wisconsin and Illinois on my way around Lake Michigan.
So, I am following the path of requests from my supporters, and meeting new people online that I am looking forward to meeting in person this summer. Along with community sewing and art spaces, I am on the lookout for remarkable American scenery to photograph the tents in. Craters of the Moon in Idaho is one scenic stop for us, and I would love to hear from you on other wild locations that you want to see them in.......
my very best,
