About this project
Woven is a world made entirely out of fabric and wool. Metal insects are threatening this soft and docile land!
Adapt and change your character into any creature or animal that you've previously scanned or combine parts thereof to make a super, or even freaky, creature.
Solve puzzles in this unique 3D Point & Click adventure game.
Experience this story-driven epic adventure with all narration told in rhyme!
The final game will be made for PC, Mac and Linux. The Pre-Alpha Demo is only out for PC.
Woven is unique in that it brings you an in-depth story driven experience, like the bedtime stories of your childhood that were both colorful and thrilling, yet had you hide under the bed covers.
Imagine a playable Pixar movie – full of color and joviality with hidden dangers and dark elements.
Your character will face lots of obstacles where his heavy Elephant limbs won't help you. Find blueprints of different animal types, scan them, and reknit Stuffy so that he may overcome the hurdles the game presents you. The possibilities are endless; after all - elephant legs may be strong, but rabbit legs would allow you to jump!
Finding and combining the right blueprints is a major part of gameplay in Woven.

In a world that consists solely out of wool, cotton, and other fabrics, you control a mysterious little metal robot named Glitch and his friend Stuffy.
Together with them, you set out to unravel the mystery of Glitch’s origin and discover things both amazing and terrifying.
Although the world, at first, seems soft, safe and entirely made out of wool, you quickly you discover a hidden world of metal dangers lies in wait. The colorful world of Stuffy is being threatened by metal insects that seem to be harvesting the world’s wool with ruthless efficiency.

The origin of Woven lies with Vincent da Silva, founder of Digital Forest and a dear friend of Alterego Games. As ‘Project Stuffies’, the game was at first designed to create a digital sanctuary filled with stuffed animals inspired by toys with detachable arms and legs. A world of wool with soft knitted hills and neatly quilted rocks - a wondrous adventure filled place that’s comfy and cozy which invites you to explore and get lost in.
Vincent met and befriended Dominic and Matthijs from Alterego Games and invited them into the world he created. The world started to develop, and the game’s core started to take shape. It is from here the story of Woven was spun. A story and experience we will gladly share with you.

Don't have a credit card?
Kickstarter only accepts credit card payment. As many of you know, lots of people in Europe don't own a credit card. These are the alternatives you can use.
Easiest would be to ask your friends and family that DO have a credit card to pledge for you or have them "double pledge" if they have already pledged. By adding what you want to give on top of to their amount. They will then have the option to choose two tiers of rewards after the Kickstarter has ended.
Another option is to buy a one-time prepaid credit card. Visa prepaid cards (international) and this link (Dutch) contain vouchers or virtual cards that act like credit cards*.
*Pre-paid credit cards always need to have a value of 1$ more then your pledge amount plus shipping cost!
We chose to fund Woven via Kickstarter due to a couple of reasons. We have funded Woven ourselves until this time and our budget can only develop the game so far. To put it simply, we need more funding to complete the game. Publishers are handing out budgets less and less and when they do, it often comes at the cost of creative freedom.
At Kickstarter you guys don't get charged if we don't reach the funding goal, making it safer than other crowdfunding platforms. We feel that the deciding factor for choosing Kickstarter was because of you guys. Getting in touch with the community that will eventually play the game is very important to us, as we said in our video we are making the game for you. So getting your feedback, being able to make your input part of the game, and knowing that people support us, that is why we chose Kickstarter.
Large game studios have budgets in the millions for making their games. Good games cost a lot due to the number of people working on them and the total amount of time spent on a project, and they all have to pay their rent!
It is a good thing we don't need millions... but we do need to pay the rent! We will gladly work our collective butts off because we would love to create and share our vision of Woven with you. It's why we became game designers in the first place: to create & share our wondrous worlds with you.
Over the last year, we've worked in creating the game with our own funding. But in order to be able to fill the world with wonderful experiences, an engaging story, hire the narrator, the sound designer and pay for further development costs, we need €85,000 to deliver you the full experience. This accounts for the aforementioned costs as well as Kickstarter fees, taxes, marketing costs and the cost of creating the wonderful rewards we are offering on this Kickstarter campaign as a thank you for your support for Woven.
Risks and challenges
We made it through Steam Greenlight in a week, and that has greatly motivated us to work on Woven since it means a lot of people out there like what we’re doing with the game!
We’ve laid out a schedule for developing the game, releasing the Alpha, Beta and Steam Early Access builds to backers who pledge at the corresponding reward tiers for each (or higher), and then the final build next year. We plan to stick to it, but if at any point a delay hits Woven, we’ll be sure to be transparent about it with you, since without your support the game won’t get made.
Having said that, all three of us have worked on large and long-term projects before and will be using time-tested management principles to keep this moving in the right direction.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
