Killer Party is a horror-comedy musical mystery slasher webshow told in 13 bloody pieces.
It's the story of a popular girl trying to do the right thing instead of the cool thing. And an unhinged psychologist trying to crack the case. And a past-his-prime beer runner fighting for true love. And a sex-maniac who wants to have the raunchiest night ever. And a vengeful geek who's tempted and changed forever by the wild side.
But mostly, it's about an epic college graduation party and the masked psycho who's dying to kill the fun forever.
We've worked hard to write and refine this idea into a complete musical, eventually staging it as a sold-out concert reading in the 2015 Hollywood Fringe Festival. Here are some highlights:
We're launching this Kickstarter to finally adapt Killer Party as a digital series, like we've always pictured it.
It's the perfect format to flesh out our diverse characters, revisit crucial moments from different perspectives, and bring to life the feeling of one long party night where anything seems possible and nothing is as it seems.
On the practical end, the serial format lets us focus on smaller scenes and situations, helping us tell a traditional slasher story in an innovative and offbeat way.
By pledging to this Kickstarter, you'll help pay for lights, cameras, and bloody effects, as well as become a part of a community of detectives who will laugh, sing, and scream as you crack the Killer Party case.
The music in Killer Party ranges from pop-rock to rap, and jazz to ballad, paying homage to classic musical theater traditions with an irreverent modern edge.
Here are two songs from the concert reading, NOTHING BUT YOU, a Disney-inspired breakup duet, and STONED TO DEATH, a profanely comedic rap solo:
Killer Party is the bloody brainchild of Amin Osman and Greg Karber, former roommates at USC's Writing for Screen and Television MFA program who bonded over their love of horror comedies and musicals.
Amin was born and raised in Casablanca, Morocco and has a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and an MFA from the University of Southern California. He is currently executive assistant to producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, working with them on the 85th, 86th, and 87th Oscars, NBC's Sound of Music Live, Peter Pan Live, and The Wiz Live, and other upcoming film, TV, and Broadway projects.
Greg is from Fort Smith, Arkansas. He attended the University of Arkansas and the University of Southern California. He writes daily koans, produces monthly stage shows, develops video games, and makes comedy videos. He has been written about in the New Yorker and has appeared on CNN to discuss his work.

Risks and challenges
Since almost the entire musical takes place in a single location (a party house), we'll be able to film it quickly and efficiently.
Still, filming is always hard work. Scheduling conflicts, technical difficulties, outrageous dry-cleaning bills four our blood-soaked wardrobe, blow-up arguments on set can all cause unfortunate delays and costs. But we have the skills and the experience to complete this project, and while it's going to be a lot of hard work, we're going to do our best to make like a Final Girl and survive -- and enjoy -- this Killer Party.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
