We're building a Community Coffee Shop at Floyd Fest to serve Artisan Roasted, Fair Trade, Organic Coffee to the people of Floyd Fest.

We want to build a Community Supported Coffee Shop on the grounds of Floyd Fest so we can serve our small batch, artisan roasted coffee to the people attending the festival. We believe that if everyone who sees this page gives just One Dollar, we'll reach our goal easily. Also, if we raise more than our goal, we'll build a nicer coffee shop and offer more varieties of coffee. The more we raise, the better the coffee experience for everyone.

NEW!!: BACKER PARTY:

We'll be holding a Backer Party in the finished Community Coffee Shop at the Floyd Fest site. Back our project and get invited to a celebration of YOU!! Live music, local food, local beer, local wine.

NEW: REWARDS FOR OUR FRIENDS FAR AWAY!! Can't come to the festival - select one of these rewards when you back.

$10 = 4oz bag of coffee (enough for 2 pots)

$28 = exclusive Floyd Fest bag of coffee

$55 = exclusive Floyd Fest bag + eco-friendly hand-printed T-shirt

We think fresh roasted, artisan coffee is really important at a festival like Floyd Fest. Imagine, Saturday morning, you wake up after only three hours of sleep in your tent. You walk outside into the cool air of the mountain morning. You stretch, gather your strength and begin to wander around looking for that first cup of coffee, thinking please, please, let it be good. There, on the horizon, it's the Floyd Fest Community Coffee Shop! And they're serving Fair Trade, Organic coffee from Red Rooster Coffee Roaster. I love you, Floyd Fest!

Since Red Rooster isn't a coffee shop, we paired up with the BlackWater Loft, the folks who brew our coffee in Floyd. That was easy, since the roaster/owner for Red Rooster is married to the manager of The Loft, who is also an owner at Red Rooster and whose mother runs the business downstairs and... well, you get it. It's a family business.

To make the festival coffee experience really spectacular, Red Rooster, the Loft & Floyd Fest decided that we needed to do something more than just put up a tent. We needed to build a real coffee shop to deliver delicious Fair Trade Organic coffee quickly and professionally with a design that would match the beauty and atmosphere of the Festival itself. We talked to Steve Arthur at StreamLine TimberWorks about a design for the building that would also match the style of the other buildings on the festival grounds, which he designed.

Then we asked our friend Ed Erwin, owner of Professional Builders, if he and his crew would help us build the functional and stylish structure. They agreed, probably out of some crazy loyalty since our roaster used to work with them.

The thing about Floyd is, we're a really close-knit community and we rely on each other. For example, at Red Rooster, we use local artists for our logos and our mugs, and our bags are printed with eco-friendly ink right here in Floyd.

This is where you come in. This is a huge opportunity for us, but it’s going to take a fair amount of money and a lot of work to get the coffee from our roaster to you.  Basically, we’re asking the patrons of Floyd Fest and the supporters of Red Rooster to help us provide really good coffee to you at the festival. We think it's a win-win situation.
