Palmy Inn Productions is proud to present the World Premiere of Names of the Dead as part of the 16th annual New York International Fringe Festival. This show will performed at the Connelly Theater at 220 East 4th Street in NYC during the course of the festival, August 10th - 26th, 2012.
Written by first time playwright Vanessa Lenz Neithardt, directed by Robert Greene and starring Michael Neithardt, Names of the Dead explores the heartbreaking reality of PTSD and suicide amongst our veterans. The story takes place on the night Jared, a psychologically tortured Iraq War veteran, has decided to take his own life. Before pulling the trigger, he makes one final call for help to a VA crisis hotline reaching Hope, the only person who may be able to save him. Jared finds solace in her voice and can finally confront the demons that have been haunting him since the war. Through the course of their conversation, interspersed with flashbacks and hallucinations, Jared’s story unfolds. Names of the Dead examines fragility versus strength in the human mind and reminds us that the casualties of war are not only those left on the battlefield.
Your pledge will help us offset the costs of cast, crew, rehearsal space, costumes and set, marketing and all the other expenses that we acquire while producing this show. We want this show to be the best it can be and with your support Names of the Dead can come to life onstage! Of course our first goal is to have you come see the show but if you can also donate a couple extra dollars, we will be extremely grateful.
