The End Approaches: Shipping Update 9
Greetings, residents of Gloomhaven!
Another week goes by, and it is starting to feel like my life is returning to normal. Well, normal in some ways and completely unbelievable in others. Like the fact that Gloomhaven has already rocketed into the top 100 rated games on Board Game Geek. That's pretty unbelievable.
I'm truly happy that you are all now enjoying your post-Gloomhaven lives, and have expressed that enjoyment by inputting a number on a website. It really does mean a lot to me. To work on a project tirelessly for two years and then have it receive the reception you have given it... I couldn't be more proud.
But enough of me gushing. I'm not going to go into a full breakdown of fulfillment by region this week, because at this point, everything is pretty much out the door. So I will just give a blanket statement for everyone that if you haven't received either a package or a tracking notice, let me know and I'll see what I can do to help. And if you are missing any components, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with your address and what you are missing, and I will help you out with that too.
Beyond that, I want to bring your attention to a few cool things that happened over the last week. First of all, in celebration of making it into the top 100 on BGG, I released those 17 bonus scenarios I've been talking about for a while. They are super-challenging solo scenarios, one for each character class. You can read more details about them and find the files in this BGG thread. I'm really proud of how they turned out.
Do you want even more scenarios than that, though? Well, I have more good news because the board game review YouTube channel No Pun Included just started a Kickstarter to fund their next year of videos, and one of the things you can get by supporting them is a digital scenario written by Efka and Elaine. Their reviews are brilliant and hilarious, and I have high hopes that their Gloomhaven scenario will be equally so.
Also I wrote a designer diary for Gloomhaven for BGG news. It's a long read, but it will give you lots of insight into how the game was developed. Pretty happy with how that turned out too.
And lastly, the Dice Tower put up their initial impressions of the game and it was pretty favorable. Tom seems to really like it, so that's good!
I think that's about all there is to report at the moment. I'm having a hard time saying goodbye, so I think I'm gonna drag these updates out for one more week. So come back next time for the final installment of Gloomhaven Updates. We're not quite gonna make it to 100, but it was a good run!
