Gloomhaven Arrives (to Some): Shipping Update 5
Hey there, residents of Gloomhaven!
My, what a week it has been! Gloomhaven hit the ground in the US and Australia and then exploded all over Board Game Geek. Everyone seems to be loving it, based on initial impressions, which is wonderful to hear. There have also been some bumps in the fulfillment process, though, which has ruined the joy for me somewhat.
I'll do my best to explain how fulfillment is going in each region, and then we'll go from there!
China/Hong Kong/Taiwan: With the new year dominating the week, there's not much new information here. One Moment should be picking up the games soon and sending them out, but I don't have any sort of timeline on that. I wish I had more news, but I'll let you know in the comments when I know more.
Australia/New Zealand: Fulfillment started late last week apparently and continues. It's a long process and I'm not sure it's 100% finished yet, so don't worry if you don't have your shipping notice yet. I know the wait sucks, but there are a lot of orders and they can't be filled instantaneously. Give it more time and let me know around the middle of next week if you haven't received a notice yet.
Canada: Good news here! I just heard earlier today that the shipment cleared customs. Yay! I believe the delivery to Amazon is being scheduled, and then we can start getting them sent out. At this point I can't guarantee you'll get the game in the next week, though. I hope so, but keep an eye on the comments, and I'll let you know when the shipment actually arrives and I get all the orders uploaded. Even after that, judging from the US situation, it could take a while to get all the orders out.
US: I'm dealing with Amazon on some major issues that are frustrating me to no end, but the good news is that the Kickstarter versions of the game, which is what you care about, are largely all sent out. Not fully, though, and I'm not sure why this is.
I'd say that initial Saturday, half the orders went out, but since then it has been a trickle. Maybe once the supply dwindles, there are logistical issues that slow down the process. They don't have enough in one region, so they have to wait for more to come in from another location? I don't know. It's been frustrating, though! And I'm sure it's frustrating for you if you were expecting your game this week and still don't have it. Trust that your order is in the system and just be patient a little longer. I'll let you know when you should be worried, and it is not yet.
The main question I've been fielding is that you got part of your order, but not all of it. This is perfectly normal. Amazon ships things separately in a lot of cases, sometimes days apart. Again, please just be patient and trust that the rest of your order will be following along soon.
EU/Rest of the World: The boat has landed in Hamburg, right on schedule! This is good news. We'll see what happens in the coming days with customs and getting the shipment to Happyshops. Remember that there are still many more steps to this process. I would not expect your games next week. Give it time, but know that we are getting closer!
All right, to people who do have their games, I just want to let you know that if you are missing any components (I know, there are a lot), just send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with your address and what you are missing, and I will work on getting them replaced.
